Thanks for sharing - I like that they aren't afraid at bold predictions and not just repeating last year's playoff teams without any real prediction, but picking the colts to be the 1 seed and make the Super Bowl makes it hard for me to find it credible. I just disagree with them on the Colts strongly.

I'm not on the Colts bandwagon either. They went 6-0 in the AFC South and then 6-6 elsewhere, looking good at times, and looking pretty bad at others. When they played the Pats in the playoffs, it was clear they really were not that close to being a legit contender. They didn't really do anything in the offseason either other then signing Nicks who is a huge mystery right now, not to mention they brilliantly traded away their 1st round pick for a mediocre running back.

I actually agree with who they picked for the most part when it comes to AFC playoff teams. Right now I have it as Patriots, Broncos, Jets, Colts, Ravens, Chargers. The Texans not adding a QB is going to doom their playoff hopes. I don't see how they go 9-7. Maybe 6 or 7 wins but no way they beat out the Bengals, Chiefs, and Chargers for a spot.

Their NFC predictions to me are pretty awful. The Eagles just lost D-Jax and Foles is going to have an extremely hard time repeating him ridiculously good season he had last year. The Cowboys suck, but not 3-13 suck. Romo alone will win them 5 games. My guess is they still win about 6 or 7. The Bears and Packers had the records they did last year for a reason that is being magically ignored by USAToday as well. Their defenses are terrible. Stack that with the fact that neither added much and to expect a huge jump in wins from both like that is ridiculous. Their ABSOLUTE WORST prediction on their entire list by far though is the Bucs. They are seriously making a case that with a new and much improved coach (Lovie Smith), a top 5 RB returing (Doug Martin), a new great NFL ready receiver (Mike Evans), maybe the best TE in the entire draft (ASJ), and Johnson and Verner switched out instead of Revis, that they are going to be even worse then they were last year. GTFO. That team will win 6 games at minimum and I wouldn't be shocked if they are in the playoff race come December.

I could see the bengals taking the AFC this year finally getting over the top. I could see dalton having a flacco-like postseason and taking that team to the SB.

McCown sucks though. I don't see them being anything until they get a QB. They made some good moves this offseason so probably not 3-13 bad I guess.

    AFC East
    Patriots 11-5 (3):
With Gronk, Wilfork back and Revis on board, how won't they win 12th AFC East title in 14 years?*
    Jets 10-6 (5):
If Geno Smith can sustain steady play from late last season, Rex's bunch primed for playoff return.
    Dolphins 8-8:
O-line chemistry typically takes time to achieve, and Dolphins had to replace 80% of their unit.
Bills 3-13: Sammy Watkins needs time to adapt. So will defense, which lost Jairus Byrd and is changing scheme. Again.

I like it! Jets 10-6 and the 5th seed. Plus the Bill reel off 3 big wins. Go Bills!

I think the Colts are gonna be really good this year. 12-4, 13-3 good.

Foles is the real deal and they added Jordan Matthews in the draft, they'll be good to go.

the Texans have Tom savage but it'll be a developmental year.

I can see bengals and chiefs regressing but I think the Chargers will be better as long as rivers plays well again this year.

the bears D will be a lot better, they added a few players.

don't agree with the colts prediction either but they did have some impressive victories against top teams last year and luck is only going to be better. i don't see their defense being superbowl good though.

Nothing is ever a lock with injuries to key players, but assuming they don't occur I would say Broncos, Patriots, Colts are locks. Bengals, Ravens and Steelers are all good enough to make a division run. The Browns could make a Wild Card run too. The Jets, Bills and Dolphins are borderline. 10-6 or 6-10 from any of the 3 teams would not be shocking. Titans, Texans and Jaguars seem unlikely to be great in 2014 and the Chiefs and Chargers could clearly make playoff runs. The Raiders, despite their addition of over the hill FA's, are still a year away at least.

    Current Seeding I would go:
    1. Broncos
    2. Colts
    3. Patriots
    4. Bengals
    5. Steelers
    6. Chiefs

    7. Jets
    8. Ravens
    9. Chargers
    10. Dolphins
    11. Bills
    12. Titans
    13. Texans
    14. Browns
    15. Raiders
    16. Jaguars

I really don't understand why people are so low on Mike Glennon. 2600 yards in 13 games. 19 TD's. 9 INTS. 59.4 % completion. If we get that out of Geno last year then the Jets are a playoff team. It's one of the strangest things I have seen. The Rookie QB that played the best by far last year is the one that is apparently a lock to lose his job.

Why? -- if you don't mind me asking

I think they are overrated big time. I think their defense will be bad and with Wayne aging and Richardson overrated that offense could take a step back. Hilton is legitimate though but he's their only real weapon. I also think I might be the only person in America that thinks Luck is a little overrated, but I really feel so.

They probably win that division because it's so embarrassingly weak but the Texans will rebound with O'Brien and I could see them giving them a run for the division. If our Jets somehow make the playoffs I will be crossing my fingers that they face the Colts in rd. 1 because they will be ripe for the picking.

The guy who drafted him in TB is gone along with the head coach and offensive coordinator. He has no stakeholders in the organization at this point and the speed with which everybody has turned their back on him says he won't be there for long.

On the general concept of playoff locks next year I really don't see any in the AFC at this point. The Broncos come the closest and they are ancient at this point. They could drop off the cliff to 8-8 with a couple of unfortunate injuries or declines.

Luck is the biggest reason why they're good. And with 2 seasons under his belt I feel he'll take that next big step and we'll probably be arguing whether or not Luck is a top 5 QB. I believe he's gonna have one of those special years. They added Nicks to go along with Hilton so that's 2 legit receivers for Luck to throw to. Then you still have Allen and Fleener as his TE's. The defense will do enough and Luck will handle the rest.

I live in Tampa and it's just insane how hard people bag on Glennon. The Bucs are always known as the cursed team that lets QB's go and then they go on to be great, and yet RIGHT IN FRONT OF EVERYONE is a guy who had a great rookie year, and all he gets is people making fun of how he looks. I have always been a die hard Jets fan, but the Bucs have grown on me a little as my NFC team, but with the way the fans act here, they deserve a losing team. If Geno went 19 TD's and only 9 INT's last year, Jet fans would be calling him a clear franchise QB that just needs time to develop.

The only reason I don't lock the Bronco's into a playoff spot just yet is that they have a pretty brutal schedule. We think we have it hard? They start the season with Colts, Chiefs, Seahawks, Cardinals, Jets, 49er's, Chargers, Patriots. That's freaking nuts. They don't face one team with a losing record from 2013 for the entire 1st half of the year. We are the worst team in their 1st half, and they have to travel to NY to play us which makes the one game where they should have a clear advantage much more even. On top of that they got the worst bye week possible in week 4. I could easily see them going only 4-4 to start the year and then make a late push when the schedule gets a little softer, but I just have a hard time seeing them missing the playoffs altogether.

Luck is good but I think we need to wait before handing him top 5 QB status. He was 13th in yards. 18th in passer rating. His completion percentage was 15th. His TD to INT ratio was very good. In the playoffs quite honestly he was terrible. Yes he led the Colts to a huge comeback win against the Chiefs but he was the biggest reason they were getting beat on so badly in the 1st place with 3 Interceptions. Then he came out against the Patriots and threw 4 interceptions and looked horrible. I still think Luck over time can be a great QB but leading the Colts to an 11-5 record when 6 wins were against the Titans, Jags, and Texans and then playing bad in the playoffs doesn't really convince me that he is going to be a Top 5 QB.

Luck's a good QB but the problem is that people see him as a great QB and I'm not sure that's in the offing.

I think this is the year the jets will be very good scoring in the red zone. I mean very very good. with two or three big targets in Decker, Jace, and Cumberland Geno should be able to make things happen. Running wise, this is where Ivory and CJ will really get mixy. a play action screen to CJ or just letting Ivory beast his way in once were inside the 10. On top of that to make the running even better we have Geno who likes to get elusive near the pylon ( ask New England )..

I'm not saying he's great. But I predict that he's going to have a season where it's debatable that he's top 5.
