Watched this 20 times and could watch it 20 more times Note- Did George Sauer ever drop a pass Maynard was always clutch
What is interesting about the Raiders lateral play is that earlier in the season a guy on the Patriots recovered a lateral by the Jets and returned it for a TD, and it counted. The AFL admitted the mistake, and ironically, it happened again in the championship. This time it did not count as a TD.
Although this game didn't mean anything in the standings as they finished the 1992 season 4-12 but what about their win over the Bills in Buffalo 24-17. That was the game right after the Dennis Byrd injury. They were 17 point underdogs that day and they beat the Bills in Buffalo which was almost impossible to do back then. I wouldn't call it top 5 but to rally around a fallen teammate made it one of the more inspirational wins the Jets ever had.
I couldn’t agree more. There’s nothing like pulling up an old game on utube and rewatching even though I know the result. Those days were real football......
Oh ok because if it’s the actual whole game broadcast you’d make a killing selling copies - I’d be one of your customers
yeah, it is one of the reasons why I love youtube. Love being able to watch old NFL games, and there are a TON of them available on youtube, both from the NFL and from youtube users who uploaded copies of games they have in their personal collections. It is cool when some of them even include the commercials that aired during the games, haha. Really takes you back in time to when you were a kid and first became an NFL fan.
I remember this game... Bill Parcells was doing the color analysis and after the game said, IIRC, words to the effect of "Browning Nagle came of age today" LOL. Maybe with him coaching, he would've
lol what makes Parcells comment even more amusing, Endlessly, is the fact that this was Nagle's statline from that game: 14-22, 176 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, Sacked 3 times, Rating of 69.5. Hardly inspiring, lol. The reason the Jets won that game was their defense obviously held the Bills K-Gun offense in check while creating 4 turnovers, and bc Brad Baxter actually did a nice job pounding the ball on the ground, eating up TOP and keeping Kelly and Co. off the field.
