So what? The west coast has been unkind to this team so far this season. East coast, west coast, east coast, west coast, east coast again. You don't think that's going to factor at all? Every team in the schedule is beatable no question, but that much travel down the stretch just blows.

Pittsburgh will lose at least three.

If the Jets win out, It's possibly the one seed.

Guess I just have a cautiously optimistic view of things. We should beat Buffalo, but I don't feel so confident in this team that I'd write off a division opponent that usually plays us tough.

I dont see us being lower than a 2 seed. we definitely have a chance at 1 but i think tennessee will stay put at one. i dont see them losing to the steelers. colts maybe, but steelers no way. the steelers have no running game right now so they are gonna struggle the rest of the way. good teams will capitalize on this. i see a first round bye and a home playoff game in our future.

I think we just might see the Titans sink like a rock.

Indy and NE are the teams to keep an eye on.

No, I don't think that should be a factor at all. Are you seriously saying that San Franciso and Seattle scare you? You might as well hide under the bed the rest of the way then.

Jets can go 4-1 and get the 2nd spot, I believe.

Wow, I'm not alone. I completely agree with you. I have seen the Steelers play 7 times now. I saw them play the Ravens, the Bengals (twice), Chargers, Giants, Eagles, and Redskins.

First of all, they have a tremendous defense. (In my opinion, they have the best defense in the NFL - they happen to be ranked number 1, in case anyone was wondering) They are excellent against the run (Hampton is a beast) and have one of the best pass-rushes in the NFL. Their secondary is also very solid and they can all tackle. Having complimented their wonderful defense, I have to say that their offense has been terribly mediocre. Their offensive line sucks. They can't run the ball and they can't protect their quarterback. Roethlisberger has been very inconsistent and thrown a lot of terrible interceptions without nearly the production that he usually achieves. Hines Ward is still good but he's slowing down and Santanio Holmes is deadly but a bit one-dimensional. Their offense just doesn't scare me at all. Personally, I think they are losing AT LEAST 2 more times down the stretch. I don't seem them winning in Baltimore (they easily could have lost the first game at home) or in Tennessee. (I don't think they have the offensive line to handle the Titans' defensive front in any way, shape, or form) I also think there is a distinct possibility that they lose in New England this Sunday. (The patriot pass-defense has been awful but I'm not sure that the Steelers have the offensive personnel to take advantage of it.) Although, I admit that the game is a bit of a toss-up.

I think the Jets' biggest advantage over a team like the steelers is that they are BALANCED. They have superior play from BOTH their offensive and defensive lines. They can run the football AND stop the run. They have an excellent short/intermediate passing game AND they can produce a tremendous pass-rush (even though their pass coverage still needs to play more consistently, as a whole). They have the personnel to BOTH force three and outs AND control the ball with long, time-consuming drives.

While the Steeler defense is a force to be reckoned with, I think their offense is on life-support (and living off of reputation in the national media) and I don't see them being the dangerous and complete team that so many people do.

^^^If we do end up meeting them in the playoffs; I don't think Heinz Field will be our undoing. Who knows, they may be forced to play in our house.

Nevertheless, in the "Herm, let's see how far back we can kick a field goal from", game, I think we played a better Pittsburgh team then, then would we, now.

Of course It'd be great for the Jets to get the bye. But at the same time, I'd like to see the Jets HAVE to beat the Pats to get to Tampa. I know we beat 'em in their house and all on prime time. But I think beating them in the playoffs would just make this whole season sweeter than could be. And then beat the NFC's best.

I don't know. Thats just me.

I've watched too many Steelers game this year (because they are always the featured game) and I am not afraid of them at all. If they beat the Pats this week maybe I'll change my mind but I don't see the Steelers beating the Pats, they just aren't that good of a team. They really messed up by letting Faneca go, their O-line is their big downfall.

Gotcha...no way the Jets can lose any more games right? Traveling couldn't possible have any effect on them. No different then if they were playing 5 straight home games.

Your gut's saying the Titans are gonna go 3-3 to end the season, at best (that's the only way the #1 seed=Jets is mathematically possible, that plus the Jets winning out). And you gotta figure Titans probably have two likely easy wins from Detroit and Houston. So they only win 1 of the other 3 (two of those 3 at home?)

    Hmmm.

I completely agree...living in the DC area...Skins fans were saying they would kill Pitt and all...well...they were a bunch of Eunichs when that game was over...that game spoke volumes about what Pitt is all about...

1.If you rely on the run-game heavily and your Q/B is suspect you will lose period...coz those beasts will just stop you cold.
2.Big Ben is what is now called a 'game manager' type Q/B and has always been...dont let those big numbers he once in a while puts up fool you...he is always prone to mental mistakes and the team is built to run not pass...
3.They are struglling to run the ball this season due to Parkers injury...if he is not 100% they will not go far in the playoffs...
4.We have always played them tough...we even beat them last year!...I just don't see the current crop or even a healthier version beating us if we played today...

That West Coast trip is gonna be the deciding element to whether we get a bye in the Playoffs or not.

Don't worry about that. They finish up against the Steelers and the Colts. If we win out, we'll get the #1 seed off tie breakers (head to head first) and if not that, we'd get it off conference record anyway.

So true the Jets have lost both west coast games this year. Although the Jets are not the same team that lost to san diego and oakland. They have improved by leaps and bounds.
