I think the top targets should start at ILB: try to get Dansby or Scott. Then go after a CB, be it depth or a starter. Then go after a S (Leonhard or someone else). Lastly, go after a DE, again be it depth or a starter -- obviously, Canty is ideal, but can we afford him? Getting players at those 4 positions will do wonders for us heading into the draft.
No Money For Anyone, Especially If This Clown Favre Decides 23hour To Return, Then We Will Be Looking To Release Players!!!
Pray Farve Retires and try and trade Coles, Baker and Ellis while they still have value for Draft picks. We need to get younger and faster on both sides of the ball.
Nobody is saying we are just going to be able to win with our D. And we know that finding QB's like the 3 you named isnt easy. But that doesnt mean you dont try to find one. Favre is 39 years old and is set to make 13 million in 2009. If Favre stays he is going to handicap this team from making other moves that would help this team in the long run. Bottom line is Brett Favre is not a long term solution at QB, the team collapsed last year with him at QB, he is a walking soap opera and the Jets dont need that right now. Rex Ryan is a defensive minded coach. The Jets need to make Favre retire and if he wants to play the Jets need to tell him he cant play for this team (unfortunatley that wont happen) free up cap space and start to build up this defense to fit what Rex Ryan likes to do. The Jets have talent on Defense. They need some more players but there is talent there. The Jets have a strong offensive line and a more then capable running game. Theres nothing wrong with letting Favre go, getting his contract off the books and then moving on at the QB posistion.
We have a number one corner. We have a very good, (and getting better) 2 corner.... We will NOT...repeat NOT be spending disproportionate cap dollars to bulk up the CB position. DE...Probably. But remember Coleman got 4 yrs /20 Mil Someone to play next to Harris.(Ray ray)
The team did not collapse because of Favre. The team collapsed because the 'game plan specific' coaching staff was not game plan specific enough against Seattle (an undersized defense) to pound it early (in the F*ng snow no less, and then run 20 draws, screens and flat plays for leon after they were beat on. They have Leon pigeonholed as a 10 touch (including ST ) a game guy.
I agree that we definitely aren't going after another #1 corner. But, I don't see Lowery as a "very good" #2. I see him as a Nickel Back at best, ESPECIALLY if Ryan plans on running a lot of man coverage. Why do people like Lowery so much?
yes but i believe if we draft than rather obtain an experienced CB he may be picked on all year for his rookie status no wonder who good he is in the future
OMG ,HOW DID YOU REALIZE THIS WAS OPINIONATED!YOU DESERVE A BISCUIT. shut the fuck up asshole obviously it is my list or i would of backed it up with facts.do you want that biscuit?
