I won the Super Bowl with the Jets and Clifford Hicks was my best player...lol Somehow he was unstoppable. That was really the 1st great football game after Tecmo Bowl. Everybody loved Ten Yard Fight and John Elway Football on NES. I remember the first NFL football on NES and it was atrcociously bad. The very shittastic LGN made that game. They must have had some licensing issues as Joe Montana is wearing #17
John Elway was loved in the arcades, but I don't remember anyone liking it on NES. by the time it was released Tecmo Bowl had come out and that was all anyone I knew played. that NFL Football game was awful. if I remember correctly, it would zoom in on the receiver when the ball got close, which was kind of neat at the time.
I know but he also returned kicks for some reason and I must have run like 2 back a game. I've never seen anything like it. Must have been a glitch in the game. As far as Arcade football games I always liked Pigskin and NFL Blitz. By the time they got to console they had been surpassed by other franchises though. I don't remember much about that NFL game because it was so bad.
I have some screenshots on my phone taken from madden 12 that will make you guys laugh I'll post them later
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoz3E5XWlCA for anyone that needs a refresher on this awful game. I remembered correctly, there was the zoom feature on pass plays. what I forgot was how ridiculously long the game took, and how I never finished a single game in it. A bunch of friends and I rented it one night when it first came out and got bored before the first half was played in the very first game, and just returned it. truly a horrid experience.
Ha.... that is some shit. Like out of a movie... I morphed Steven Jackson with some Buffalo scrub to create the ultimate player.
Sega was better than the competitors even after that when the Dreamcast, PS1 and N64 was out and it had 10x better graphics and features than the latter two. It's a shame it wasn't that big of a hit, that's really what took them out of the console business.
problem for the Dreamcast was that it was aimed at competing with the PS2, not the PS1, and just happened to be the first of the next-gen systems out in the market. the consumer preferred to simply wait for the PS2. The Saturn was Sega's follow up to the Genesis (all the Genesis add-ons not withstanding) that competed with the PS1 and N64, and was the worst of the three. The Saturn pretty much ended Sega's relevance to consoles, and the Dreamcast was its last gasp, which was inferior to the PS2 and the X Box when it was released.
Xbox and PS were superior to Sega but I always felt that Sega's systems were better than Nintendo. I even remember their answer to the Gameboy was much better, it came in color and had much better graphics. Nintendo had the dollars and the name but Nintendo came out with some inferior lame products like Gamecube and N64. NeoGeo had essentially done N64 10 years earlier but didn't have the ability to compete probably because of the price and lack of advertising.
Anyone hear anything about this? The court approved the settlement almost 3 months ago...I kinda figured the checks would have been cut by now. Maybe it's just a longer process than I thought. I emailed them asking what the status was. I'll report back.
So funny I thought about bumping this today as I was wondering if anybody else had gotten their check. I was hoping to use it to buy FIFA 14...lol
