    True. I believe if he is there at 33 they might actually make that move and sit him for while. I have some real mixed emotions about that.
    The danger to me is that if if things go south early with Geno there is a tendency to try to rush him in and he is not remotely ready, killing any chance for him to develop and wasting a high pick.

    I think we will sign another veteran in this case. It's just that we don't know that now because the draft hasn't happened yet. Typically second phase of free agency starts post (and sometimes during) the draft. Our QB2 is a part of it looks like.

    I thought we signed Bailey Zappe to be the veteran backup?

    Zappe is the type of backup you want with an established starting QB, not backing up a guy that could be benched by week 8. Zappe can't come in and rescue a season, just a half, and maybe a game after that against a non-divisional opponent.

    And yes I know you were being a smarm.

    I see reports the Patriots might release Josh Dobbs... Strictly backup material here, thoughts?
