Gase was his own brand of shit. Miami didn't want him; the Jets should not have either. Each time the Jets hire a coach I would hope they consider every viable candidate from the NCAA or the NFL; from the offensive, defensive or even special teams sectors and regardless of whether or not they have been a head coach in the past. It's a tough enough task to hire the right guy without all the clamoring for eliminating almost every candidate based on such bias. The Jets are not 0 - 4 because Glenn has never before been a head coach nor because he was a defensive player and coach. Sure, it would have been great but anyone who expected a playoff appearance this season was not dealing with reality. Anyone calling for his ouster today isn't either.
