They really have stepped in shit between Brady, Evans, the revival of Baker and Bowles figuring it out. Oh and of course they are great drafters which helps. But they have to play in Tampa in that stadium. Two dumps. So basically us with good luck.
We could of had Russell Wilson this offseason for nothing to and on a 1 year deal instead we signed his backup who looked like Zach Wilson last game.
True, but to be fair, Russell looked like shit week 1…45% completion rate, etc. But sure, we could have signed him… I’m not a big Fields fan, but there weren’t very many options out there…we could also have kept Rodgers but that didn’t fit with a rookie HC and made little sense. Slim pickings on the free agent QB market always…you’re trying to pick the least crappy player of the bunch
Rush the hell out of Baker and play zone a lot more than man coverage. D need to come prepared and do not over pursue like the mess with Buffalo. D need to show up for a change. We are not a come from behind team at this stage. It has to be close or us ahead within the last 2m to have a chance.
Fields certainly did not play well and the fumble hurt us. But if people here think he was the primary reason for our loss against the Bills they completely missed our ongoing biggest issues. This team is not built to sustain significant come from behind wins, the roster has significant holes that could not all be filled in year one, and when the D plays like crap, our top starts in D play poorly, and gives the opposition great field positions and negates third and out with idiotic penalties we have zero chance. Allen had zero TDs and we still look bad in the execution.
3 completions. Fields played nearly a whole game and completed only 3 passes. Yes he was the primary reason for that loss
Crazy how Even Zach Wilson wasn't that bad, maybe against the Patriots only. Oh ya don't forget his idiotic fumble to totally change the dynamic of the game.
You keep throwing stats in a vacuum as that was the root cause. What’s your reason for game one. Oh wait, without Fields we erase two scores of the board. His passing was poor but not the root cause.
Eh Fields pretty much lost the game. The defense held them to a FG after the fumble on a short field. We put the defense back on the field 2:22 later and the D somewhat holds only giving up 41 yards for another FG. The Cook run was a killer after that but Fields needed to stop the bleeding and didn’t.
his passing and his rushing were poor considering he fumbled the ball away when he tried to run it. He completed 3 dump offfs all day and missed on some easy dump offs, let alone passes downfield we’ve seen Zach Wilson here so we’ve seen truly bad Quarterback play and this was as bad as the worst Wilson experience
I’m not arguing that. But the root cause is a piss poor defense. Giving thirty plus points per game will not win many games no matter who is behind center. It’s simply dreadful execution across the whole D.
come on guys - let's not argue - all parts of the team from the coaching and play calling through to the offense and defense were terrible.
It was ugly and depressing across the board. No doubt about that. Not to mention there were far more Bills fans than Jets fans to rub it in. I sure picked a hell of a game to go see in person. Good heaven.
It's officially Tyrod time according to literally everyone on Twitter. Fields ruled out. TB might have to defend the pass, I feel like our chances at a W went up. I don't like that it's at the expense of someone else's health but it's a clear upgrade.
Tyrod isn't exactly an unknown commodity. He can squeak one out if teams don't gameplan for him. I don't see it here.
I just don’t think we’ll be able to contain Baker, especially in crunch time…until this defense shows it can actually stop somebody, I’ll be doubtful. Even with Tyrod being a better passer than Fields, he is not the runner that Fields is, and I think that facet opened up a bunch of plays for the receivers…without that threat, I think teams will double or triple GW every play and our other scrubs won’t be able to take advantage, because, you know, they suck. I see 0-3 coming
It's possible, and maybe likely, that Cook will play. Maybe we can get a Bledsoe/Brady moment and end the curse?!
UPDATE: Justin Fields (concussion) has been ruled out for the GAME, per Glenn. #Jets — Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) September 17, 2025
It might be oversimplifying, but I do largely agree. Receivers were open, don't think the o-line was so bad (Zack Rosenblatt posted a stat that Jets QBs have the longest time to throw through 2 games). Obviously Clemons' penalty was a back-breaker too. Yeah, there should be more resilience even with that, but you can't win with QB play that bad.
