Different QB, same shitty offensive output. Good to see Metchie do well. Other than that not much to write home about. Breece's great game ruined by a back breaking fumble. Same thing happened against the Cowboys. Overall one really good drive all game. Not great.
Once he realizes that play is going off instead of rushing guys out there he has to call timeout. Period. That’s a crucial down and you can’t throw it away so you can pout at the refs after the fact.
Somehow I KNEW going to the grocery store instead of watching the game was the right thing to do. Ahh...the Thanksgiving day lead up. Caught the kickoff and that was the long and short of it. The "quick reading" says it all. Going to repeat myself here. If it can be at all helped, this team cannot blow too many resources to get an "average" QB. Take what falls to them and use all those resources to begin the rebuild. It is time to do what many have alluded to and do a top down house cleaning. About the ONLY safe player should be Folk. Even him, with his age, is up for debate, now that I think about it. We have an O-line and nothing else. Nothing. Even McDonal IV is a "poor man's" edge rusher. J.J., we'll see how he looks after a year further from Achilles surgery. I don't know how we go from having one of the most talented defenses in the league 2/3 years ago this but we did. Glenn is what he is and everyone here knows for 99.9999999999% certain he's back next year. It is what it is and we can HOPE he learns from this year. we'll see. Most, including myself, are willing to admit that Moogs looks promising so we'll see there. Engstrand really is the wild card. Is this what he is or is this a byproduct of having trash at the QB spot and him having nothing to work with or a combination of the two. It most certainly looks like we're going to find out if he has what it takes to develop a QB. The next 5 years are coming out of what happens in the next 7 months. Strap in...
No. Wrong. Refs give the defense a lot of leeway to sub. For whatever reason they didn’t give the Jets any leeway. There are 1,000 reasons every week to criticize Glenn and the coaching staff. This is not one. Let’s be realistic.
That's the thing, many were saying just Fields is the biggest issue, there are open WRs everywhere. Well, we have a sample of 2.5 games at this point and the output is identical with Taylor. Not a slightest difference in actual scoring output. Defenses adjust when there is a QB who can make a basic pass but less of a run threat. We have not been able to get a result offensively either way. Let's see how things progress as Taylor gets more sample size. But for me, it's still not clear what Tanner is at this point. Need to continue to see more to answer your question, which is very valid.
How is the output identical though? Fields has four games he’s started where he finished with under 55 yards passing. That’s nothing close to what we’ve seen with Tyrod.
We are not scoring any more with Taylor though. Defenses are able to stop us even with a better QB. The offense stinks with either one. Don't take me wrong, for the purposes of player development I like Tyrod more, not saying that Fields is better. But for the purposes of coaching evaluation, we haven't really moved a middle there as far as getting on the board.
That’s not using context of the game though. Another example of how the Jets coaching staff should be heavily criticized for a plethora of things. The offensive system has been ok for the most part though. They played the best defense of the past 5-6 weeks in the league today.
The particular person you are debating right now has an unhinged hatred of Glenn. I assume he did not want him as HC so Glenn can't do anything right and everything terrible is him.
I'll admit i transitioned to family stuff sometime near the end of the 3rd, but the jets compeated against a much more talented team. That's literally all I'm asking for each game.
Bro, you have the backup 36 year old (mediocre at best) QB working with 3 receivers who weren’t on the roster a month ago. Of course the offense is going to look disjointed.
I have 2 weeks before my township stops collecting leaves so I had to bail today. I was pretty impressed with the newbies today as they played well against a superior opponent. They were done in by an overly aggressive HC and a lack of talent in key positions which is the same story we've seen all year. All in all, another loss however it wasn't the complete domination most expected. '25 is over already. Time to evaluate who and what we have on the roster. Who stays.. Who goes. Who can GTFOH. Upside is we're still in the top 5 along with our other picks so, no real reason to get too upset or to happy either way.
Of course. But the system itself as far as play design looks like a functional NFL offense. It’s sad to say but as a Jets fan that’s encouraging.
I really really don’t want to MLF this. Very clearly has something that can work with the right guy, but coaches for a franchise that notoriously never finds the right guy.
We had Rodgers and Adams (who leads the league this year in tds) last year and they were still disjointed. It's a deep rooted problem that goes past the talent and players on the team.
Yeah but that was a completely different coaching staff dude. My response was to someone saying the offensive system seems like it’s trash regardless whose QB. Agreed.
@Jonathan_Vilma I just wanted to make a post regarding my thoughts of how sick I am of good players coming here and turning into XFL'rs only to go to another team and play great. and your post looked like a good place to do it. annnnnd another TD for Adams.
Crazy to imagine this, but last year the offense scored even fewer points per game with Rodgers and Adams than this year with Fields and no WR2.
