62% is LOW. This ain't 1980. https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/player/_/table/passing/sort/completionPct/dir/desc but as I first said... i'll pray... i';; take the kid who outplayed the hair boy in the champ game.. reunite with w GW and with the TE... ;-)
Can we stop whining about AR getting walked now... Also opens the door @7 for the Penn State TE or another impact DT/OL guy. Time for the new FO/CS to really get to work now. Still need a #2 WR and a RT and a S..
Well I guess I’m good with this move…I’m no lover of Fields…but I do think he was the best overall option out there in terms of age, cost, some possible upside potential, etc. The pickings were slim. And it’s not a huge contract for a QB, so I do see it as a low risk with some upside kind of move. Tyrod Taylor is not a starter and has been injury prone in the past…Rodgers was way expensive and hard to imagine that ego and personality with a new rookie HC, so I get the move from him. Didn’t want to wait and see about potentially spending big money on either Carr or Cousins, and neither guy was really available anyway but regardless, I’m glad we didn’t do some kind of trade for either of those dudes. And the draft is not a very QB favorable draft, so considering the other options out there like Brissett or Winston, I’d take Fields and the potential over those guys as well. And if he plays well, great…we found a guy, and if he doesn’t, then we are still in position to draft a QB next year from a more highly rated class (at least at this point in time…but we all know things can change) And also, this doesn’t stop us from using a Day 2 pick on a guy if someone they like slips past the first round…
I still expect them to take a flyer on a QB at some point.... probably around the 4th round. The likes of McCord, Rourke....etc.
he also RUSHED for 5 Tds. Numbers dont always tell the whole story. Tyrod made the Pro Bowl in 2015 20 TDs and only 6 Int yet the team was 8-6 in his starts.
I would like the Jets to take a swing maybe on a guy like Chase Young? Guy fell off the map, but we could use a situational pass rusher on a prove it deal. I feel like teams sign them all the time and get good production and we never take a swing.
I mean Russ signed there for a measly $1m for 1 year. Nobody factoring in the human element to how this stuff actually works was assuming that was *NOT* coming with assurances from Tomlin that Russ would 100% get the first crack at the starting job when ready. Fields would of had to play at a MVP type fill in level before a guy like Tomlin is going to realistically considering breaking a handshake agreement on something like that. He didn't and Russ got his chance he then ran with (for a while at least).
I can't even believe this. This is the guy the Ravens benched last year because he was getting torched, and they had a rotating CB opposite Wiggins that they were trying to find his replacement. They tried Tre White and that also failed. When we played them in the playoffs, the scouting report was "go after CB2." I can't believe they signed this guy to this type of contract and expect him to be a starter. Unreal.
Stephens was awesome in 2023 and declined last year. They did pick on him at times. The Jets will have to fix the inconsistencies. Like Sauce he has a lot of length for the position.
I think Aaron Glenn likes the kid and that’s the only reasons why they went after him. With the way corners are being paid. His deal isn’t horrible and if he goes back to playing like year prior it’s a good move. He has good size and speed, now just needs to not use his hands as much and get grabby with WRs because he will get penalized. Hopefully Steve Wilks is up to the job and can this dude right. Would be a nice CB room
