The reaction for McD was mostly driven by wish for an OL, which I was routing for as well. But I’m bullish on what this kid can do. He had a good season on a limited roll, and he has been training and gaining weight and will be a force with JJ moving forward. Now let’s put the 17 M a year to good use with top offensive talent.
Pats resigned Mike Onwenu for 3yr/57mil. Tackle market starting to pick up a bit. Still looking at Zeitler and Dalton Risner for OG. Jonah Williams wouldn't be a bad addition if it was a reasonable price. I figured he'd get way overpaid, and he still might, but hasn't signed yet
I have intentionally been busy today because I didn't want to invest In the stupidity of Free Agency. Yet, here I am. At least I waited till now to find out that we haven't done shit so far... That OL Is looking solid at least. Oops, I mean DL. My fault.
The best signings have not been day one guys. Definitely some guys gone I would have liked to have seen signed, but plenty of decent players left
Brissett to the Pats. Too bad. I heard that rumored and it made sense. He'll have a good chance to start
With Brissette and Minshew gone, what good back-up is really out there? Tyrod probably, but he is hurt all the time. More likely than not we will be downgrading back-up QB spot this year, I am afraid probably with washed up Tanny.
Unfortunately you can pretty much book every obvious moronic signing we all joked about and hoped wouldn't come to fruition. Lock 3 game Bakhtiari and Tannehill in, this is just disgusting. I get not over paying but wtf is the plan?!? Zeitler, Tryon and Ridley would be nice but I bet we get none of the above (except Ridley maybe who I like the least of the 3).
Runyan and/or Tyler Biadasz both would’ve been great signings. Friendly short term commitments to shore up the interior. I have a bad feeling we’re going to bring Becton back and break the bank for Jonah Williams.
Taylor isn't bad. Jameis Winston, Mason Rudolph, Drew Lock, Josh Dobbs, Tannehill. Less exciting than Brissett or Minshew but more realistic
Why are people down on the possibility of Tannehill as the backup? What are you expecting or hoping for on a limited budget… and Rodgers as your starter? I’d argue Tannehill would be the best backup we’ve had in at least 20 years and better than most of the starters during that time frame as well.
