Thanks for this! I didn't see Hard Knocks, so I didn't know this. It makes total sense that in trying to snap the ball in a way to get a specific spin on the ball, that it could cause problems for Tippman. It's definitely something that needs to be fixed. I also read that at least part of the problem is that Rodgers wants the center to put a certain spin on the ball. Perhaps that's what is making things worse for Tippman. Maybe it is the "yips." Whatever the case, it needs to be remedied/fixed before the season.
No to McGovern!!! He was the worst center in the NFL last year, and has given up way too many pressures, hits, and sacks. He is not the answer.

Jake Hanson was a 4 year starter at Oregon at center and a former draft pick of the Green Bay Packers. He saw a little time last year, he deserves a shot at winning the job especially if Tippmann cant snap
Having to snap it a certain way for Aaron Rodgers is something that does make the job a bit harder, but it's still a shotgun snap at the end of the day that virtually all high school centers are able to get down by the end of the first week of practice. Add in the fact that this is this man's job, for which he is being paid quite handsomely, then there's really not much excuse for it to not be remedied already. He should have been working on this all offseason if it was a problem for him last year. If he doesn't have it figured out now, then no matter how much better he gets with it, it's going to rear its head again at various times during the season and potentially cost us points, games, and potentially the health of the only person standing between us and another dismal season.
I was a big fan of Hanson coming out. Very surprised he never stuck anywhere. It’s getting late early for Tippman to keep struggling with snaps. He will be down in a heartbeat for any team that offers him the minimum contract. That hasn't happened yet, but it might, perhaps even for the Jets. But the bottom line is that he sucks. His decline started towards the second half of 2022 and last year he was god awful. Pathetic scrubs we had on the bench, such as Newman, Wes, Glaser, were similar level. At least these guys are younger and may have gotten better. But the fact is, we are very weak at IOL this year beyond the starters. I think that's one area where JD may not have done enough. We did not spend a draft pick for IOL and brought back the guys to be subs that failed last year. He did replace Laken, but the subs we have are pretty scary. And CMG will not change that. Ideally we get someone better to back-up the starters.
Just looking at the timeline, he got hurt Dec 11. ACL you have to wait about 3-6 weeks to have a surgery, let's say he had it around Jan 10. Add 9 months to that at best before he can start any contact drills. You are looking about mid Oct to start work. Maybe end of Nov to play at best? Mike Williams tore ACL in Sept, hasn't practiced yet, and he is a much smaller guy. For 300lb guys it cannot be easier. When healthy though he can be a really good player, so contract will not be cheap either. I am not seeing it given the circumstances.
