I'm sliding into the "move Gil into the bullpen" group. Other than he's probably starting to hit a physical wall for innings pitched, I'm not too sure the Yankees did enough to solidify the bullpen. They DFA'd one of their acquisitions and Holmes had regressed more than I thought. I've honestly seen Letter pitch maybe two innings so I have no idea if he's been good.
Yankees third base coach is not good. They've been caught an awful lot this year at home. But he's also been victim to guys blowing past stop signs, Soto and our franchise 2B multiple times come to mind, and piss poor slides like Grishams just now. Stanton has a .191 batting average with a .633 OPS, 9 hits, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs, 4 runs scored, and 11 strikeouts over 13 games since returning. To the shock of no one, probably even himself.
Nice win today 6-0 and taking 2 of 3 from Cleveland. This is one hell of a race between the Yankees and Orioles for the division.
That bottom of the 6th Then the Chin Ming Wan talk. Such a sad story for him. I remember watching that game and his injury running the bases, probably the first time he ever had to do it as a pro anywhere. Great pitcher who lost his career because of a foot injury.
Feel for DJ, he's totally just lost it and the Yankees have to keep trotting him out because they have 0 depth at the corners. DJ, Stanton who I get on because of his contract, do seem like real pros who just are not what they once were. A positive is Jazz looks like he is going to be a Yankee for a while if he can stay healthy.
Looked like Heaney hit Soto with some intent. To be more specific, it didn't matter if it was the janitor or the CEO of the lineup, he was so pissed at that clock violation he just slinged the pitch inside with zero F's at best. An 82mph nothing right to the hip.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result And using Clay Holmes as your closer
It's a sad sight as a Yankee fan to see their worst everyday player get continued preferential treatment by him still being the every day second baseman and the leadoff guy, when the guy we traded for (Jazz) is better at both. I don't think it's out of the question he gets resigned because Cashman wants to hoist him up as high as he can so he can point to the trade that got him here until the end of time.
Well, just a few more weeks until the Boone /Cashman Yankees get their annual early bounce from the playoffs. But hey, look at all those short porch regular season home runs though. Just as good as championships, right?
You need legal paper at this point to write every instance our franchise second baseman was the laziest person in the stadium this year. Almost 4 decades of watching baseball I've never seen such a leash.
Three games up on the birds and far and away the best run differential in the American League. I have no confidence in this team, but the data may be proving me wrong.
Man, have to go back to the Whale as the saddest team relocation when talking about the A's and team relocation. Just disappointed they have to leave Oakland, lots of memories against the Yankees and they are probably my 2nd team.
5-1 trip. Magic number to clinch the division is 1. Magic number to clinch homefield throughout AL playoffs is 3.
All time bad play by Gleyber to get hung up there. But also why did the third base coach fucking hold him? He scores easily on anything but a perfect throw. With Judge on deck no less. Wow.
