Agreed, lol. I just can't imagine a team in this age forcing a player that openly asked out to stay. Who else would be in on Deebo? My point was more along the lines of the Jets pulling a stunner by still making the move for Deebo, but I couldn't figure out how to get there without trading both 2nds.
He was the best WR prospect, not the best WR in the NFL. Picking the best prospect is smart. Again, you make picks with the information you have at the time.
I wonder what is going on in the Steelers draft room right now? Mike Tomlin really wants a mobile QB to build around.
A lot still available right now... Jermaine Johnson George Karlaftis David Ojabo Nik Bonnito Boye Mafe ..and more.
Pickett and Trubisky duel it out in camp and if Pickett wins so much the better but if not he's going to be the favorite in 2023 unless Trubisky just grabs the job and holds it. Either option is good for the Steelers. Also, they got to see a lot of Pickett last year since he played at Pitt and they probably have insights on him that most of the other QB-hungry teams did not.
At this point, if you want a specific one, use a 4th & 5th with a 2nd to get into the mid twenties. JJ, Karlaftis & Bonnito would all be nice. You have to figure KC & GB wil each take at least 1 WR. Teams may also move up to try to grab a QB or RB to get the 5th year option.
I'm a big Wolverines fan and I'd go slowly on Ojabo. The injury was real. Torn achilles is no joke. He's probably out for all of the season.
