We all know who should be first out the door, but I'm still not convinced that it will happen.

Lou needs to go but he will be back, and this team will only get worse. Next year is the start of a number of playoff less seasons.

Sorry for this off topic post

as much as I can't stand the Bruins and especially Marchand, it feels so good watching the Maple Leafs lose yet again... just because #91 plays there.

Maybe he wants to be as done with the season as the rest of us.

Average teams can only play over their heads for so long.

At least I got this game right, too.

They lost this game in the first period, but I give them credit for coming back and tying it up. They lost this series in game 2 when they blew a 3-goal lead at Carolina. In the end they lost to a better team. Hopefully Lou is fired even though I know he won't be. Nothing changes until Lou is gone.

That was another game they could have won. But blowing the 3-0 lead in game 2 really hurt. At that point they were down 2-0 to a team that is better than them. Any chance they had at pulling off an upset was gone with that loss. No way they were beating them 4 out of 5 which is what was needed once they went down 2-0.

The way I look at it, they needed to win all of the 2-1, 3-2 games, because any game that the Hurricanes got 4 or more would be a loss. Losing the 2-1 game to start the series required them to hold the Canes to 2 or less goals in 4 out of 6 games which wasn’t likely going to happen.

The outcome to all of this seems pretty obvious - the slow decay will continue, and instead of making the playoffs on the last (or next-to-last) day of the season, next year they won't make them at all.

The only mystery is why Malkin cares so little about the future of the team.

I’m not 100% sure about the accuracy of articles that report about John Collins buying into Islander ownership and given responsibility of President of Business Operations.

However that seems to be how the team chose to run their operations.

It could be that because it’s a committee of owners, so as long as team is making money they won’t overhaul too much.
