Wilson officially looks decent. This is very good news indeed. Edit: We have ourselves a quarterback!! At fucking last.
There’s 2 weeks from the last ps game to week 1 I have no problem using next week like they have traditionally.
They really just need to get rid of preseason. If they need to create a schedule for intra squad practices and scrimmages that's fine but this stopped being necessary a long time ago.
Hey guys great talking with you all today. I think we saw what we needed to see. ZACH CAN MOVE THE CHAINS!! Lets hope our injured men have swift recoveries.
I disagree. Early games are sloppy enough. Do away with preseason and the early games will be unwatchable. In addition, they're important to help CSs determine which players should make the team and which ones to cut.
It would make for a very interesting dilemma for teams and players if they eliminated the preseason entirely. No point in 90 man or 85 man or 75 man rosters at any point because it is only in the preseason games that unheralded players can really make enough of an impression to unseat vets and high draft choices. No reason for camp fodder for practices either because nobody is going to be doing contact practices in which they allow camp fodder anywhere near the players likely to make the roster. I'd guess that maybe a move to a full time 65 man roster, with 48 dressing for games would be the way to go. 10 guys would be developmental, like the practice squad today, with maybe 7 guys fighting for the last 2 playing roster spots each week. The 10 guys on the "practice" squad would actually get a full minimum salary and no longer be exposed to waivers during the season. It would be a much more logical system for a competition with the high physical attrition rate that pro football has. The 7 man draft each year would be just about enough to replace the normal attrition with dips into street free agency when necessary. 90 man rosters at the start of camp is total hypocrisy as it is. 30 guys come into camp with zero chance to make the team and then the grind starts both for them and for the real players who will get injured practicing and scrimmaging against them.
