That’s your truth. My truth is “holy shit that’s a lot of sacks” Thanks again for researching the facts.
It's a lot of sacks given that the Jets were trying very hard to limit Zach's exposure. David Carr is kind of like the reference point for young QB sacks. However he only had two seasons (including his rookie year) where he had a worse sack percentage than Zach did this year.
I believe the CS was trying to give Zach as much exposure as possible. If they were trying to limit his exposure, Flacco would have started this year, IMO. It’s going to be an interesting off season.
I think the CS had a rollout plan for Zach at the start of the year but somehow he didn't get the memo on exactly what the rollout was going to look like. The post-game pressers early on featured a lot of squirming out of Saleh when the rookie oops moments came up and eventually he started talking about the boring stuff Zach needed to do better. This felt like Zach was going off script and not taking the underneath stuff when that was what the defense gave him. Then the injury kind of defused a lot of that as other QB's took that underneath stuff and let LaFleur get on his feet. Zach was going to get him fired without the injury, likely at the end of the season, and the other guys let him prove out that the system worked and it wasn't his design that was flawed. After Zach came back I think everybody was on board (including Zach) with not letting things get out of control on the field. The Jets called conservative game plans and Zach went even more conservative with his choices and the turnover based disasters stopped happening. However the offense also went pretty flat at that point and then the injuries just started rolling in. One of the side effects of playing the type of game plans the Jets were playing in the second half of the season is that it becomes easier for guys to take injuries they might have played through in other circumstances and do what they can to avoid the wear and tear.
No one said Berrios sucked. He just aint winning you football games by himself. He had one mutli-td and you homers think he’s all that. how many multi-td games has crowder had since being in NY. :crickets:
Lots and lots of people on this board last off-season said “Berrios sucks”. I haven’t heard anyone say he’s winning us football games by himself, have you been hearing that?
I'm sure you said he sucked, certainly words to that effect, I'm sure we had a nice long argument or discussion, if you like about it, last season could have been been the season before, COVID time just flown by. Btw 'homers' wtf Crucially how many multi TDs did Crowder get last season? The whole point of Berrios is the fact he has never been given a fair chance at claiming a place in the team, he has never let them down, an all effort guy and if given more of a role in the side he would then produce more double TD's to meet your expectations. We will see next year if he signs up and for the wont of repeating myself he could and should be used like Beasley was at the Cowboys and then the Bills as a minimum.
Honestly, if Zach played the entire season with his first half statline, Saleh might have changed OCs out of desperation for his own job.
That’s an interesting point. Especially if MiLF never goes up to the booth…. I thought @Br4d was just talking crazy but i can see it…
