Bad placekicking continues around the league. Gostkowski missed two extra points and a field goal (although obviously no one cared), and Vinatieri missed two more extra points (and hinted to a reporter that he's going to announce his retirement tomorrow). Last summer's Jets kicker, Cairo Santos, missed a 45-yard FG that could have won the game for Tennessee. Rosas missed a FG attempt for the Giants. The Niners and Bengals kickers both missed short FG attempts in their game. Matt Prater missed an extra point and a FG, but Detroit won because the Chargers had a punter kicking, and he missed two FG attempts. Bailey missed a FG and an extra point for Minnesota. It ain't just the Jets, folks.
That may be true but doesn’t excuse Mac letting Meyers walk out the door. He hit all his XPs I think he missed a FG but it was a long one .....
So Ryan misses two easy TD throws, then Bryant shanks the FG. Still 3-3. Why am I watching this shit.
Wentz with an awful pick, and Philly's D is still leaving receivers open, so 10-3 Falcons. Action! Yay.
Yep, it's ridiculous at one level, but it's designed to prevent people from driving the QB into the ground as he's going down. The problem is that this game really is too damaging for anyone's good.
"That looks like the guy we saw in 2017..." ...who got hurt. And who was holding his ribs earlier. Oh well, in any event, Falcons choking it away.
And we see what it leads to. Last year a Chiefs player literally let Tom Brady go while he was in his grasp out of fear that he would be called for a personal foul (and he probably would've) if he tackled him too aggressively. Cost the Chiefs the game
