Please tell me it isn't so. My heart cant take it if it comes down to a field goal by the Jets. But I do agree it will be closed. I give Buffalo plenty of respect, and I don't take Allen lightly.
If you put Bell & Montgomery on the field on the same time - and send them both out for a pass, one (or perhaps both) of them is gonna get covered by a linebacker. Isn't that a huge mismatch?
Agree with you 100%. 2nd and 10 Allen runs for 15. 3rd and 4 Allen runs for 9. I can see that and that being an issue all game. Plus add a few deep shots. He'll connect one probably 2 and they could easily beat us. Their d is good and well coached. People are under estimating them.
Worries -Our Oline has practiced/played together absolutely zilch. -Our kicker has kicked in a total of zero NFL games. -We're lining up who as our tight ends? -It's been 20 months since LeVeon took a meaningful snap. -Bills have good corners, we have Trumaine Johnson's creamy hamstrings. -Remember how confident we felt at home when Matt Barkley was going to start against us last year? Remind me how our D responded? Dr. Feel Goods -No Andre Roberts revenge game. -Bills took Spencer Long off our hands. -A healthy Maye and Adams will help mask our weakest unit. -Jets Dline looks stout. -I never have to see shots of the frozen, in-different statue that is Todd Bowles, staring into the void of nothingness on a Jets sideline ever again. -Sam Fucking Darnold.
I see too much worry here on this board. I wish we had more homers. You debbie downers you. Jets will win big. At least a TD and maybe more. Bills is no joke. But Jets are better. Much much better than years past. I am no homer. I am an optimist at most. But this game belongs to Jets. And next Monday night we will out that little shit Mayfield in his place. 2-0 baby. Here we come.
Who gives a shit? He has been over 1000K All Purpose Yards the last three seasons. In any year that he has received at least 30 return opportunities, he has done very well for his team in the return game. He has gotten better every year. He is trending upward. He is good at his job within the return game. You and whoever else can try to dispute that, make excuses for it, whatever, I don't care honestly. Again, though.... He is someone that can hurt other teams in the special team game. That's a fact. It is possible, he has the ability to do so, he could be a problem for our team if he plays, these are all facts until he shows he can't do what he does best, any longer. There is no evidence that he can't, currently. 7 yards more last year than any other year before... You feel that's a strong argument? I don't get it.
When he’s been a career 22 yard returner and all of a sudden has a 30% jump in what his numbers are, yeah i would sit down and take a look at the reason why that might be. He didn’t all of a sudden become an all pro returner out of no where. You’re probably one of the guys who wanted to pay an absurd amount for Myers who also had an outlier year. Anyways.. I still can’t really get a hold on this game. Part of me inside wants to say we just hang a 40 spot on them and embarrass them, but at the same time i truly believe if we let Allen run around and extend drives we will be in trouble. I think what the Packers DB (im drawing a blank on the same) said in the post game last night applies pretty well to our game on Sunday - “make their QB play QB and we will win”
Given all the new additions - players, coaches, uniforms - I'd say this is a MUST win to get the team off on the right foot. If they lose, we'll quickly have visions of SOJs, and that will be a huge negative to overcome. The honeymoon will be over before it's even started. That said, I'm cautiously optimistic that they'll win this one.
Sorry Brook but even in good years the Bills have beaten the Jets. Do you remember how the Jets blew an almost certain playoff appearance in 2015 losing to the Bills? That was all the proof I needed to know that Bowles was not the answer. The good news is that Bowles is no longer here, so that alone gives me hope. I predict a solid win, but wouldn't be shocked - pissed, yes, shocked, no - if they lose.
Jets should be able to have success on the ground against the Bills. Get the ball to the running backs. Passing game and run game. Should have a few shots down the field eventually in the play-action game. Bell is one of the best pass blockers in the league. Safeties have to stop the deep ball, all eyes on Maye. I think the Jets win this one.
2-0 would be an incredible feeling heading into week 3 for our first matchup against New England. 2-0 with a real focus and goal of 3-0 and 1st place of the division. One can dream. Sam Darnold. Le'Veon Bell. Robby Anderson. Quincy Enunwa. Jamison Crowder. Leonard Williams. Quinnen Williams. Jamal Adams. Marcus Maye. C.J Mosley. Trumaine Johnson. When all healthy (which they are) and when you analize all 11 of these players listed above? Damn, that's a talented group core players to build around and all ready to fight. Don't sleep on role players in Anderson @ DE and Jenkins @ OLB either because last year these two combined for 15.0 sacks; 7.5 each and on offense our backup RB in Montgomery can be dangerous on fresh legs once spelling a workhorse in Bell. A now veteran offensive line as well; with only one young pup in Shell who's continued to improve @ RT and a leader @ Center in Kalil. We're going to destroy Buffalo on both sides of the ball.
Okay, well, his stats are on par with Devin Hester. Who is one of the greatest return men of all time. Whatever though... let's focus on meaningless stats. Cool. An appropriate amount would've been acceptable. What he got paid was acceptable to me, yes. Absurd, no. Cool assumptions though.
