Game 5 tonight at Verizon Center. I am going again. I went for Game 1 and the Caps lost. Superstition is real in sports, so I am a little worried, despite the fact I play no part at all in the outcome. Haha. I hope the Caps can feed off the crowd again tonight. They need to strike first and take the momentum. Otherwise the Isles could do what they did in Game 1.

What an absolute coat hanger abortion of an officiating job tonight.

At the end of the day, the same thing that almost sinks them in the regular season is coming back to cost them a playoff round victory.

Lack of offense, they were one of the leauge leaders in the regular season in goals scored, but once the leauge caught on to their style and made adjustments, they went into a slump that almost cost them the playoffs.

They can't score and they don't have the defense to grind out games.

Oh well, it was fun, hopefully Garth can pick up a true power forward to help Tavares out on the top line, because no one else is getting it done.

Well it ain't looking good,,,,,,,hopefully they show some stones and show up on Saturday because that was painful to watch,,,,,losing is one thing but to get pushed around and outhit is just horrible,,,,,if they continue to play this way then maybe its a blessing in disguise because as painful as this is to witness it would be 100 times worse to watch them play this way against the Rangers,,,,,hopefully they win Saturday

Come on boys, have faith! This loss was depressing but I refuse to give up now. What are the chances this game will be 8pm start? If it is, I will be there, anything earlier than that and I can't make it. Really would love to go to this game. I feel the despair but what's the point, let's have faith in the Islanders.

Rohri I don't know if its despair , more like reality . I hate saying it but our guys can't score at even strength, can't score on the power play and have looked real bad trying and are pretty much getting pushed around. Yes if they win Saturday we are even and it's a one game series and the arena will be rocking, that said last nite was a very bad loss, not so much the final score but how it came to be

Well said, it's not a matter of me not believing it either, but the eye test does not fail, they just don't have physical players.

Okposo is the only true physical winger they have and don't forget Kulemin, he tries to throw the body around also.

The 4th line brings some energy but at the end of the day, the team needs some real goal scorers, and that's not going to happen before Saturday.

Yep, your right. Even last night I felt the reality of things but I had a few beers in me and tried to convince myself otherwise. As someone else said , I just hope they send out the coliseum in style.

Finally a game that felt like Caps hockey last night. How I felt Game 1, you had to feel like Game 5. Erase it though as Game 6 will be here before you know it: Tomorrow at 3. I wish momentum carried over in hockey but it rarely does. Expect the Isles to play strong and likely win Game 6.

We can deal with a game 7 if there is one,,,,,rite now focus on game 6 ,,,,,,they have to find some scoring somewhere,,,,once again I will say it,,when in doubt and when goals are hard to come by campout and put a body or 2 right in font of Holtby and magically the goals will come,,,,now will they do this? Do they have anybody or body that will pay the price ?

No, they won't put multiple bodies in front of the net, but that's because Capuano believes in the triangle set up where you keep your players spaced down by the net to keep control of the puck.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but he has been using this system from the time that he was the coach of the sound tigers and it is incredibly frustrating to not see multiple bodies in front of the net at times.

Menace if I do not see a body in front of Holtby today then watch your Tv closely as I might go " Mike Milburry" climb over the glass and beat Capuano with a shoe !

The first 2 players I would replace are Josh Bailey and Brian Strait, I would bring up Pulok on defense next year to replace Strait and sign another winger FA to replace Bailey, he brings nothing to this team after 5 years of being called up from the farm team.
