Going to be really hard to do that. A couple of years on the depth chart and a good run as an emergency QB might do it.
Well I was going by the Matt Schaub example. Yeah, you're probably right. I think Garoppolo could get them a 2nd rounder in camp this year if he looked good and some team was desperate. There's always somebody who is desperate by the 3rd exhibition game.
I didn't love him at all. He's undersized and not quite mobile enough and he has small hands. I could see some team trying to make him the guy for a few years but I think he won't manage to pull it off in the end.
Oh yea... He also dissected every team he went against like a surgeon but let's ignore all that on the field performance shit. Clearly the Jets don't care about it!
He threw some wobblers at times and the NFL has a way of making a guy who has smaller hands really regret it when the weather turns colder. He did very well at Eastern Illinois and the school is the same place that turned out Tony Romo. That's why the Pats drafted him in the 2nd round. Very few QB's from schools like Eastern Illinois even get drafted, let alone high in the draft. If Tony Romo didn't exist Garoppolo would have been a UDFA somewhere. That's why I wasn't so high on him. Respect for the performance but not for the context nor the ability to play well at the NFL level.
I wonder if all the posters who were killing me about my love for Brissett will change their tune now that Bellicheat and Parcells thinks highly of him?
Amazing how if someone showed me this 2 years ago, I would have thought we had at least 2 picks in the 2016 first round and most likely a top 2 pick. Maybe that's a very good thing.
