My prediction for the night: Someone wants the 5th year option for Connor Cook and trades back into the 1st round. Seattle's the one to move back and gives up their first for the 4th straight year.
Yes I know, it's called spending time with your kid for dudes like us. I don't get the sense that as an 18 year old he was planning his family. He's 21 and she looks 3. He's definitely babysitting. _

This pick reminds me of the Kyle Wilson pick, not in terms of talent level, but in how it's so targeted towards a specific area in which we struggled at the year before. If you recall, we drafted Wilson after Manning attacked and torched our nickel and dime CBs in the AFCCG the year before. Similarly, last year our LBs struggled covering RBs out of the backfield, so now we draft a LB that can cover. At the time we drafted Wilson, I didn't like it because: a) he was really a cover 2 CB and a bad fit for Rex's press coverage scheme and more importantly b) it was too short sighted. It was the kind of move that a GM, coming off the false success against an easy schedule, gets fooled into thinking he is a few pieces away. Not unlike, when we traded for Doug Jolley and drafted a kicker with our second round pick because we lost a playoff game on some missed kicks the the year before. Mac keeps looking like Tanny every passing day.
One of these next 3 teams would be very smart to pick Jack. Huge luxury pick that could make each defense elite.
Good, we want interior DL coming off the board now before the high 2nd round picks. Make the Mo market more valuable.
If you're going to take Connor this high you really need the 5 years. He may not be worth much on the field for the first two.
Ragland has an enlarged aorta. He's also slow and probably won't have the same success in the NFL that he had at 'Bama. He will probably drop like a rock too.
If he beats 59.8%, 2,249 YDS, 9 TDs, 17 INTs and 67.9 RAT, he'll surpass the bar set by his predecessor who won the Super Bowl.
He could have traded the farm for a QB without more than 50 completions by the time he was a junior. One that played half his senior year and played pop warner teams his entire career. That would have been AWFUL.
