Very strong RB class. RB Jay Ajayi, Boise State RB Mike Davis, South Carolina WR Devin Funchess, Michigan (formerly TE).
To get Mariota we'd probably need to do pretty bad. He's a potential franchise QB candidate and a superstar in the making. Bryce Petty is the top senior QB next draft, and being coached up by Art Briles puts up incredible stats. He's got the arm, the accuracy, athleticism and power. He also seems to be overlooked despite his stellar 2013. If he goes unnoticed in 2014, I say we should shoot for him. If Geno doesn't improve as expected, of course.
already the footprint starts to appear for next year - safe to say it may be another WR heavy class - maybe thats why the jets didnt take WR so high this year? Hmmmm. I kinda hope that thought was in play.
Would love to have 1. Stefon Diggs. He is DOMINANT! He broke his leg this year, been a bit injury prone, but he is a stud. 2. Armani Cooper obviously.... bama is bama so we need to really look and see how good he can be. Believe he is legit though. 3. Vic Beasley -Rex will have plenty of time to scout him with his son at Clemson. Beasley is quick, only 245 so he should be able to play in space keeping Coples as our true pass rusher.
and if we draft Jameis "Jaboo" Winston I will be ticked off. That guy is not even that good at football. Plays pitch and catch at FSU...kind of like the old USC qb's did with their ridiculous talent (Leinhert, Sanchez, Booty, Barkley) A bunch of good rb's, Mike Davis is a stud and obviously Gurley/yeldon but we are set at RB for now..
Also, does anyone have a good link for 2015 FA? We still have some cap room left because we didnt go "all out" this year, right? Curious to who we could be in position to sign.
Just missing my Top 25: Duke Johnson, RB, The "U" Johnson is only approx 5'9" but he's around 200+lbs, a tough runner that puts up big numbers. Had a significant injury but should be ready at 100% in Sept. Should be a at worst a early Rd 2, late Rd 1 selection.
Also I've heard good things about Florida State RB Karlos Williams. Will have plenty of opportunities with Freeman and Wilder in the NFL.
If Sean Mannion continues to improve, look for him to be in the conversation as one of the top QBs available.
