I don't think he's a nut case, he's just a tough player that doesn't take crap from the defense.

You like him more than Zack Martin?

It was real close, but I still would have taken Lewan over Martin. I do like that Martin can play both positions.

I think Lewan has a higher ceiling at OT.

This Lewan threat incident comes from 2009, his freshman year.

I'm probably a bit biased being a Michigan student, but Lewan is far from a nutcase.

He's a mean monster on the field, but off the field he is known as one of the role models for his teammates. He passed up being a top-5 pick (possibly the #1 overall pick) to return to school as an offensive lineman because he wanted his degree. He was voted team captain by his teammates.

Lewan is far from a "nutcase".

That's everything I've heard about Lewan, his teammates love him.

The Kid is a warrior, he plays the game the way it's meant to be played.

If the board fell.like that, I'd rather the Jets taken Mosley there. Hes a stud ILB that can take over for Harris next season and we'd have 2 insanely fast and athletic ILB that can both cover. Mosley to me has perennial Pro Bowler capability. Lewan would be a nice addition but he would've been #2 on my board behind Mosley

Lewan was my BPA and Howard's status is up in the air. I think it was a smart pick for the future of our Offense.

I was in a tough spot, I just wasn't going to reach for a player that should be drafted in late Rd 1.

Mosley is a good player, but he's not ranked as high for me and Harris and Davis can hold the fort for some time. I'M not ready to give up on Harris.

Don't get me wrong, we all know there is a playmaker or two I would wet myself over if we drafted them, that said, I love this fucking pick WW.

A very nasty RT now and potential replacement for Brick if he continues to slip in play. It provides a starter and depth along the line as he could slide over. This is a very Idzik like pick and i'd be happy.

The ND guy has a problem with a Michigan player? I'm shocked!!

  14. I like the Lewann picked based on value(This coming from a Spartans fan). I also think the jets have major depth issues at OT which this would solve. Assuming Howard resigns this would beg the following questions

1.Does either Howard or Lewann move to guard?
2.Does Lewann sit for a year to learn until Brick rides into sunset?

  15. Dolphins obviously had more pressing needs than Mosley at #19 but all first tier prospects had already been drafted & the value was too great.

Mosley will be an asset for his versatility & athleticism. If Dion jordan ever comes to life they could be a helluva combo.

Howard to Guard would be my opinion. he's a bit tall for the position, but is athletic enough to pull despite his frame. Lewan's skills would be wasted inside. He can seal the edge in the run game and is a very good pass blocker at tackle.

very nice value pick for the fins.

  18. I agree. Lewann has better feet than Howard to handle edge rushers. I think Howard would make a very good guard given his strength in "phone booth" situations. I have a hard time believing Idzik/Ryan would make this switch however.

Rex makes all coaching decisions once Idzik picks the players, so ultimately it'll fall on rex, and we know how Rex loves his vets.
