I wouldn't exactly call Geno king of the hill. Boyd is a clutch performer who has made some bad decisions but I think he will be a quick learner.

High scoring game. Looks like team with the better defense won. This doesn't prove that Geno is the outstandingly better QB. If I were Geno I would be feeling some heat. This is the guy that's really going to push him because now Geno has some tougher competion besides Vick.

Tajh Boyd could be a major steal for us, and is my favorite pick in this draft (aside from Pryor). For what it's worth, I saw him rated as the #1 QB prospect in this draft about a year ago, ahead of even Johnny Manziel! In fact, they said that teams will likely consider Boyd in the top 5 overall, and this was a major publication saying this! Again, this was about a year ago, but anyone rated that highly at one point has got to have some major potential.

cool your jets man, Gabbert was a highly rated QB at one point, so was Brandon Weeden, Ryan Lief, etc, etc.

Liked him too, though he said recently that he always hated the Jets.

Huge difference between what some draft gurus "rate" a player and what you see with your own eyes. Brandon Weeden sucked, never understood the love for Weeden and Leaf was massively talented but simply a knucklehead and there's no way to handicap that.

I've been watching Boyd for 3 years now, watched him a LOT, saw him in person at the Carrier Dome (torched us for nearly 500 yards and 5 TDs) and he has a gun, a lightening quick release, accurate, a strong runner and a dynamic leader.

    Could be our Russell Wilson.

Boyd needs a lot of work to be a starter just from a footwork perspective, he never called protections in college or checked into any plays, the system was simple, he needs a lot of work man.

Not saying he doesn't need work.

He's a good prospect though, arm right on par with Simms, good mobility, we'll see how his work ethic is these next few weeks.

dude, I wish he is but he is not even close to what Russell Wilson was coming out of college. A realistic comparison is David Garrard, and now that I think of it that's probably precisely why we drafted him.

I'm not saying Tajh Boyd will be the next Russell Wilson, but for a 7th round pick, it's nice to know that he was considered a top prospect at one point. He was considered by some as a possible top 5 overall draft pick at one point...How many 7th round picks can say the same? I also read that he was a top 10 QB recruit coming out of HS, also nice to see. Again, it doesn't guarantee NFL success by any stretch, but it's sure nice to read that about a 7th round pick!
