This so much.... I am a little letdown by FA too I mean but people wanting to light the torches and want Idzik gone are way overreacting. I know Jet fans are among the worst when it comes to having patience, we've seen this plenty for our draft picks over the years but this is getting a bit ridiculous right now with getting up in arms when someone doesn't sign our way because of price tag. Can the draft stitch all of our wounds? Nope but its important to have depth in this league, especially now where Torn ACL's and other season ending injuries happen at a frequent rate. We're getting younger and are adding much more depth....how can people be mad about the direction of the team? Again I wish we would have signed a few other players too....by no means has this been a slam dunk of an offseason but the way people are acting like Armageddon is coming down because we didn't sign a cornerback are kinda ridiculous. Idzik plays hardball...we saw this with Milliner when Milliner had his very brief holdout. We're seeing it this offseason. And we'll probably be seeing it when it comes to signing up our draft picks too. If we start to struggle in the year, then we can start to hold Idzik accountable.....but no games have been played yet and for all we know some low key signing or draft pick could end up being a vital part to the team's success this year and moving forward. Have some patience at least folks. You can be a bit letdown because we didn't get another big name or two....that's fine. But acting like the world is over because we didn't sign someone, especially when the draft hasn't happened yet is biting on what agenda-driven fools like Mehta are trying to sell you.
Harvin got the Vikings a 1st and 3rd..... Why wouldn't Philly be looking for at least a 2nd and 3rd, especially when Jackson is the (healthier, somehow) and better player?
Yeah, I'm sure a new deal would have to be a condition of any trade but I don't know why we with 12 picks aren't all over that..he is unguardable. If NE gets him Brady will stay around another 10 years.
I thought it was 10.2 and 30 over the next three years. Fact is if he took a paycut he could probably play for the Eagles still. If we trade for him it will cost us this year but would have to restructure down the road.
Jackson is a helluva receiver and a true game breaking player that we are dieing for but... He's got a questionable attitude. He's always looking for more $ like Revis and has an attitude like Holmes. Could end up bad but i understand the temptations.
He was also one of the best in '12. The hip injury obviously hampered him last year. Would you pay for a CB who probably falls somewhere in the middle in '14?
I agree he is never happy... always wants more money... and is not a team first kinda guy, exactly the opposite of what Idzik is looking to bring in for the Jets. As talented as he is he just isn't worth the headache or the money.
Looking at all the Eagles fans comments I don't get that at all, they seem to think the whole attitude thing is blown out of proportion. He is a difference maker and the fans are going ballistic because they think a third is way too little. When Revis left for a first and fourth some of us were on both sides, I don't see any Eagles fans calling him Mesean or anything ridiculous like that.
I mean, Cam Newton cant be too happy with all his weapons disappearing, and Colin Kaepernick would be available too.
If DeSean Jackson can be had for a third rounder I'd probably pull the trigger. Although it's not as sexy as the last couple of years Jackson/Decker/Kerley sounds like a nice WR set to me.
Getting a "blue chip" QB in free agency is as rare as getting one in the 7th round it just about NEVER happens
