I'm pretty sure they didn't get cold feet considering they are left with no tackle and let go a sure set starter.
And then the Rams swooped in and signed him up for 5 more years. Just remember Jets fans - when you get down - look around - there are fans who have it way worse than we do.
I know this. What I'm saying is that I don't think Oakland purposely failed him because of cold feet. How could you get cold feet when you are signing a solid starter to a long term deal when they just lost their previous starter? There was obviously concern with his shoulder and he failed.
They got cold feet because they overpaid like crazy, he's now signed to the Rams so it doesn't matter now.
Take a look at this article from PFT. http://m.nbcsports.com/content/raiders-thought-saffold-needed-immediate-shoulder-surgery
I wonder why we weren't in on Sproles since we have an exta 5th and the Saints barely beat the Eagles in the playoffs. I guess Idzik values our late round picks more than we though
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 22s And now the Eagles have reached agreement with former Dolphins CB Nolan Carroll. Philly moving and shaking.
Munnerlyn is visiting us and I know he plays in the nickel...so if we sign him are we moving Kyle wilson to the outside?
That's an option but highly doubtful, its more likely that we reach out to Cromartie and try to get him back.
I wanted Carroll. According to Cromartie and the Jets front office, Antonio Allen could be the next Ed Reed. Probably why we haven't made a move for a safety.
He's visiting us after visiting two other teams. If you're not first on the visit lists, you're last. He won't get to us
Id take Nicks, no problem and I agree he is the one wr this year who can be a #1 although I will give Decker a chance to prove he can be one as well this season before I degrade him as a #2.
I'm not sure if I go that far, but he has ball instincts that a 6th rounder like him wasn't suppose to have considering he played a SS/LB hybrid role at South Carolina. I thought it was a mistake to bench him in favor of Ed Reed, especially with how Reed was playing. Chris Clemons is still out there but I didn't realize how comparable his stats were last year with Dawan Landry. Both had 1 int each and a few passes defended, though he ranked out well in the rankings.
Yeah its like a 90% chance he doesn't get to us unless those other teams lowball him on the contract.
He visited the Vikings yesterday, is coming to us, then going to visit theBucs. We are second I believe.
I was going to post something about how we shouldn't want a 30 year old RB with a lot of touches, but he only has 1338 (including special teams). While he is a little older, he should be decently fresh. I still wouldn't have wanted him. He's good, but would only be here a few years. I'd rather take a flyer on a 5th round RB than sign Sproles.
