We are only half way there guys, if revis wasn't signed by the pats this would have been a great day, but because of that i'm not satisfied. we also lost howard today i want jones and or sanders, sproles, captain, and a draft that includes both a receiver and a tight end in the first two rounds, and a new guard. maybe make some trades to get steve smith? check this lineup out all of this is pretty realistic (except smith), this is just the first step. i still think we are maybe a draft away from being regular playoff contenders. but I'm happy we FINALLY made a move
We could have taken Richardson at 9 and had Revis here not on our rivals. Instead our brilliant front office took a disaster CB at 9 and a guy who plays the same position as the previous years 1rd draft pick. Geno Smith was the worst rated starting QB in the NFL last year. He is absolutely terrible.
lol, that'd be one hell of a hangover. ... aw my head... wait I did what!? What do you mean i signed with the Jets!
He can start working out with Geno ASAP. Good signing, he should help. The more weapons the better. Idzik is sticking to his plan. If fans want to complain they are free to do so. But he is in year 1 and a half and our roster is so much better. I really like his approach. Even the Revis nonsense didn't throw him off stride.
“@RichCimini: That must have been some dinner tonight with Decker and Rex Ryan. Addresses huge need for #Jets, but Decker is a No. 2 WR, not a No. 1.”
I am not a fan of Decker. He may work out and I hope it ends up to be a good signing. But I don't support overpaying for mediocre talent. If we are indeed paying $7-8 million per year for Decker that is the kind of money that should bring us elite talent and a difference maker not a guy who is at best a #2 WR. I would much rather take a chance on a few low to minimum salary vets like M. Austin to hold the fort and then draft 2 WRs for the future. We could have used the Decker money to keep Howard (rather than Giocomini), upgrade at guard, and still sign a guy like Austin and one other low budget player like a cheap safety or RB. That being said I hope I am wrong and hope he works out and becomes a reliable target that Geno can trust.
Needs to fill: Defense: CB, S, OLB Offense: Another WR, two guards, and RB/TE depth, backup QB Fill those needs and go into the draft and start selecting BPAs ALL DAY
I love this move because he is not only productive, but he is experienced and a class act. He will be a great mentor for the receiving corps. For the right price, this could be a golden signing for Idzik and the Jets.
Solid player. Now when Geno is a bottom 3rd QB again this season we won't have any excuses from the green goggle crowd.
Vic Lombardi @VicLombardi 6m And no, the Broncos never made Decker an offer. Heard from him tonight. He signed a 5-year deal. Good for him. Vic Lombardi is CBS Denver's sports guy. Will be interesting to know total salary and guarantees..
