I don't know why everyone doesn't understand this - his hanging out in Florham Park has nothing to do with football. His wife is 9+ months pregnant. You're damn straight he's taking his sweet ass time getting back home.
Eric Decker, Jessie James Decker and the E! production crew are probably filming a future episode as we speak, hence why its been a while. Probably doing outtakes for Decker's reaction when signing the dotted line. Idzik has his emotionless poker face down to pat, now its Decker's turn.
Lets make a list of teams likely to sign a $7 million WR: Patriots-No Dolphins-No Bills-No Jets-Yes Steelers-No (they would have resigned Sanders) Ravens-No Bengals-LOL no Browns-Yes but its the browns and they do have a star Colts-Maybe Texans-No Titans-perhaps Jaguars-No Broncos-No Chargers-No Chiefs-No Raiders-Yes but its the raiders NFC West- No NFC East- Eagles got Maclin, Giants dont have the money, Cowboys dont either, Redskins have guys NFC South-Falcons ehh, Saints no, Bucs, bucs have guys, Panthers have to fix the Oline NFC North- Packers would just resign Jones, Vikings doesnt sound like it, Bears NO, Lions just signed Tate So we have perhaps 4-5 teams that would potentially sign a WR for 7 million. Lets face it, these WRs are the ones on the losing end here, they arent getting 7 million, Nicks, Sanders, Decker, sorry. Not enough teams interested.
Ive seen 2 tweets that said jets are close to signing both james jones and decker. But they did not look reliable at all they were just random people Sorry i just want some hope we sign someone
We're trying to sign guys who Play Like a Jet. That's what Idzik said in his introductory press conference and what Francesa gave him flack for. Probably spending a few hours to see if Eric Decker Plays Like a Jet.
Saturday on NFL network talking about Revis to Jets is a great move. It would be talked about at the trade of the century. Think Woody wouldn't want that Pub?? He's a pub whore.
Is it worth paying the guy 10-12 mill per year for the __th time though if you're Woody Johnson? Between this and Michael Sam come May, we will begin to see how personal/bitter Woody Johnson really is. He's Pro-Republican and had some resentment about his deceased daughter's lifestyle, will that come into play if Rex/Idzik wanna grab Michael Sam in round 4 or 5? We're gonna find out a lot about this owner and if he really cares about winning these next 2 months.
If the Jets lock up Decker and MJD I would be ecstatic. I've said the whole season the Jets need a pass receiving, playmaking back who can create YAC. MJD solves that for 2 years. Decker is the number 2 WR and Kerley stays in slot, Nelson/Cumberland are a red zone target. It really makes the Jets flexible in the draft.
Revis is in a funny position as it relates to Jets Nation. He could return and be one of the most loved Jets ever, or go to their rival Patriots and be one of the most hated. Funny how that is.
Brian Costello @BrianCoz The Jets did talk to Revis' camp today. Conversation initiated by the Revis side, trying to see if there is any interest from #nyj
Baker why are we bringing Sam into this? His combine numbers were pathetic. I can't see him fitting in our system.
We brought in Aaron Maybin and Rex got something out of him and with Barnes still recovering from his ACL, we can use that situation 3rd down pass rusher....its just a matter of if they see it with Sam or not. I just think Woody will have a good say for draft night much like for free agency.
