These posts are funny. In a couple of days there will be players who are good and inexpensive on the market. Some of the teams who have spent big will have to cut to get back under the cap.
Ummmm... No. He is not a Top 10 corner by default. There is not enough consistent body of work from this kid to deem him anything other than a good zone schemed CB in this league. To tell me that the Titans could not afford the contract he just got, if he was actually a top 10 corner, makes absolutely no sense. If the Titans felt he was a Top 10 corner and not a scheme based corner, they would have given him more money then he got. You don't let a Top 10 corner walk out your door for peanuts like the contract he just got with the Bucs. You just don't. Also, I don't really consider a guy that plays exclusive zone coverage capable of being a TOP 10 corner. Ever.
I'm for Talib. And we could look at it this way: Edleman, Brady's only trusted receiver is probably gone from New England, and Byrd is out of Buffalo. Two teams in our division have lost more important players than we have.
What if, and hear me out, Idzik isnt making any moves because he might not know what he's doing? I trust him, but we are the Jets lol, this does happen to us.
I'm glad we didn't sign Byrd to that contract. I'm up and down about Idzik right now it's only the first day, but I did not expect him to let our players leave via FA. Howard is good as gone and I think Austin Howard at age 26 deserved a decent contract. I mentioned when we were initially interested in Verner that he didn't fit our scheme, but the price the Bucs got him for was pretty good. Who, and when Idzik gets the other starter interests me. Can't be perfect, but at least he didn't splurge.
He got less than $6.75M a year when others were being signed for $8-10M Looks like a lot of teams didn't think he was all that valuable.
I love how some people just think this is no big deal, and like it's all being planned. Yeah we heard countless people being linked to us, and we ended up not signing them, but yeah don't worry! It was planned all along of course! LOL WHAT THE FUCK EVER. We're a fucking pathetic franchise. Even the fucking BROWNS.. THE CLEVELAND FUCKING BROWNS signed MULTIPLE great players. Us? Nah, why the fuck would we do that. Cheers to another fucking 8 and 8 season YEAH I CANT WAIT!
This was definitely debated pages back, but what are the realistic odds that Revis is gonna be back in NY? With Verner going to Tampa, Revis is done in Tampa. We need a CB and supposedly Revis would "love" to be back with the Jets.
And you're surprised by that? Revis and his people are asshats. I hope no one will sign the greedy sob and his career is over. What are you scared of, that he might not come back here? I can't believe that any fan in his right mind would want Revis back. You guys need to get over your infatuation with Revis. He's not coming back. Woody will never ok that. Hell will freeze over first, as it should. Eff Revis.
Spending money just to spend money isn't going to do the Jets any good. Half of the signings today will become a deep source of regret for the teams that made them. A few will make an impact but most will just join teams spinning their wheels. There's a reason the big winners in free agency don't win Super Bowls.
