From what your reading you got that From what I'm reading its close and both are doing well Preseason games and offensive meetings will tell a lot Lets not jump to conclusions, this is interesting
Jane McManus @janesports 1m Ryan said Kyle Wilson is competing for the starting safety job. Versatile, can play safety. Brian Costello @BrianCoz 36s Rex said he is disappointed and frustrated that Milliner is not here Expand
Definitely looking forward to watching Wilson. If he transitions well, then the pick of Milliner looks even better. Hopefully he signs soon.
Wilson could make a hell of a safety IF he has the instinct. He's very good w/ the play in front of him. Also very good at turning & running. What he struggles w/ is mirroring which is only a seldom requirement at safety. This bares watching Truthfully I wouldn't mind a pairing of he & Antonio Allen. Landry could be used as more of a "steady the ship" role player. Allen seems to be making plays.
I've been waiting for us to move Wilson to safety since his first season. Just seems like a way better fit. As someone said, when the play is in front of him he's very good. He can play physical and has some nice speed. Obviously he's not gonna go out there and be Ed Reed but I think it will suit him well.
this is the real issue. people overlook it because the catch was made but the qb isnt doing his job if the ball is not where it is supposed to be. and i have still yet to see anything about genos footwork and how he is coming out from under center. any news on that guys?
Was hoping to here more about Kerley, Rogers, and Hayden Smith, but I'll take the good news about Clyde Gates. I haven't heard any reports, but you can see some of his throws here: http://www.newyorkjets.com/photos-a...nd-Recap/9105a6d1-c2bb-4ae4-8955-7e7334e71ee7
thanks, thats the first i have seen him take a drop back in camp thus far. i havent seen or heard anything about him doing the things i worry about. first steps, drop backs and movement in the pocket. shit even something as simple as the exchange with the center.
exactly! harbaugh saw smith as a guy, based on previous play, who he could coach up to adequate. whereas, he saw kap as a guy who he could coach up to be superior. kind of like mm now with the jets, except i doubt that el taco can be coached up to terminate the turnover machine.
That was worse Hill was open WIDE THE FUCK OPEN Sanchez looked Pump faked Then passed and loud mouth Sherman picked it off
Well, Gates is a 3rd-year receiver who was very raw running routes. If he's figured that out, he's a freakish athlete with sub-4.4 speed and a great vertical. We haven't had a true speed threat in a long time, and now we have Hill and Gates as potential deep threats. Neither one has proven he can be an NFL receiver yet, but both have potential and more experience than they had last year. At least with guys like Hill and Gates, there's a chance for this offense to score points on big plays. The Jets have been atrocious at scoring long touchdowns in recent years. Hopefully, they can take a step forward and give the Jets an offense with a little bit of quick-strike ability. Would help make the QBs better and the offense better as a whole. Still a lot to prove, but this is encouraging for Gates. It's year 3. It is a new system for him (a 3rd one in 3 years, 4th if you count the 2 he had last season), but as a rotational receiver, he has the potential to be interesting, even if it's scoring one long touchdown a year like Jonathan Carter.
Nice perspective, thanks for that. We sure as hell could use a no-name receiver breaking out from no where like Gates. Morningwood will use him correctly.
Here's Kellen Winslow on a $10K road bike with taped cleats (looks like he's holding his cycling shoes in his hand) :rofl2:
