Hope Freeman injury isn't serious or career threatening. Good luck kid.

This continues to be my biggest fear for this season. If we have no run game we're dead in the water.

Are there any other free agent RBs out there worth looking at? I'm not convinced Ivory will play more than 8-10 games, not sure Goodson will play a single one and if we have a long stretch of McKnight/Powell as our rotation we aren't exactly sitting pretty.

It seemed like an up and down day for the whole team

Guess Freeman will be an IR stash now (or an injury settlement).

Everyone needs to calm down about Ivory, sheesh. It's nothing more than precautionary by all accounts.

Every day he's out, it becomes a slightly bigger deal. Especially with Goodson's situation and McKnight being McKnight. This team badly needs Ivory, and hamstring injuries tend to linger. Still time to get it healed, but the fact everyone thought he'd be better by now and he isn't is a red flag. Not panicking yet, but this could be a big deal.

Yeah. And if he can't make it through practices in camp, how will his body hold up taking non-stop hits during games?

My biggest hope for this team is that Goodson returns. I was so hyped to see what he could do for this team.

Well if this was a guy who was normally really healthy and it was just a random one off then I'd be a little less worried but he has a history of injuries (not sure if they were also hamstring or not though).

We have a lot riding on Ivory so the fact that we're one week removed from pre-season and he's still riding the bike is a little worrisome in my opinion. Is it the end of the season and we might as well pack it in now? No, of course not...but the longer this drags out the worse it is going to be, especially if Goodson never shows up and if McKnight has something that could miss some time.

SOunds like the OL had a shitty day, QBs seemed to be equally up and down. Our RBs need to get their shit together.

Serious question- Is Goodson just unexcused and not a single person knows where he is?

Maybe they have - and I haven't been following closely enough (if so I apologize), but has the media been grilling Rex / Idzik about Goodson's whereabouts??

Jeez, they ask a zillion questions about who Sanchez is partying with, Rex's sex life, Geno Smith's business life, etc. etc. But the starting RB is M.I.A. at training camp, and we hear nothing? WTF

They did a few times but the questions were shut down with circle talk and a no comment.

This should not be a surprise. Our DL is gonna be sick this year and Shelly wasn't even playing today. Our OL will get better with time (I hope). If anything I'm concerned that our D still can't cover a TE.

It truly shows what gutless pussies the NYC media market is. These beat writters would rather spin a TMZ story then provide fans with actual football information based on their creatieve persuasievness.

Sorry to rant but, isn't this why they get into the profession? To have a conversation with coaches/player ect and get information out of them by being tactful? Maybe this profession has seen the likes of newsweek and us weekly too much. Give me some god damn answers about goodson! Go to the guys house? His attorney, friends and family. get the story you ass clowns!
that would sell papers too you know....rant over

I strongly doubt where Goodson is at will wind up being football news. In all likelihood he is at rehab - he'll be here when he gets here. Hopefully a changed man.

Maybe Goodson doesn't want people to know? I can respect that he'll be here when he's done with his alleged rehab.

This is getting a bit scary now, the two backs we were counting on the most to carry the running game this year, have been all but invisible.
We need a strong running game this year to either support a sub par QB (Sanchez) or to take the pressure of a rookie (Smith).
If this situation continues, I hope Idzik will be keeping his ears open for a decent veteran cut that might become available. One who still has some tread on his wheels and who could help for the next two years. It's time we develop talent in house next year for this position. It my hope for this year Powell will be the real deal and able to hold up for the whole season. I could add Griffin stepping up would be a huge bonus.
