I asked mainly because of contracts

Mangold and Brick are locked up for a while and Cro and Harris have 1 year left on their deals

It's training camp, now's the time to be optimistic. That said, I do like what I've read here about how things are panning out and I agree that Kirwan's somebody I respect. I enjoy his show immensely, he always takes the emotion out of it and offers an interesting perspective.

    weird... I'll play debbie downer.

Goodson isn't back yet, Ivory has been limited, McKnight is woozy n'shit, and Powell wasn't really catching from what I've heard.

Our RB Corp is the biggest blemish in an otherwise encouraging offensive training camp, needs improvement.

    Agree with this.

Before camp started, I thought the RB situation would be the major bright spot. Now it's a question mark at best, although it's only 4 practices.

Also wondering about the progress of Demario Davis and what is going on at the safety position.

Did I mention that our beat writers suck?

  8. I've said the same thing. That being said Rex has a very good eye of DL & has made the best of far worse situations. Think about all the no name 5 techniques that have come through here, had success in significant roles. Marcus Dixon, Howard Green, Trevor Pryce,MTV..the list goes on & on.

The 5 tech in question will be a reserve back-up type so maybe it'll be one of the UDFAs Rex sees promise in..kind of like Damon Harrison who is turning out to be a beast.

Ellis is key and i think will be used in all kinds of schemes .

People gotta stop riding Coples! I think he will be great off the edge.

While i agree he wasn't a 'no name' player, There's a reason he was released and retired. The Raven's were pretty sure they'd be able to re-sign him after trying to create roster space, If Rex doesn't run a team in the league I'm pretty sure he signs back with Balt and retires there.

My apologies for this, I've been in poor health and unable to keep up with things and don't really have enough energy to go through all the posts so far this TC.

Has there been any mention of how any of the UDFA's or lower round draft picks have been doing?

    None what so ever

The most I've seen is KJ Stroud and John Griffin(who's been here for a minute)

I think those guys will shine more in preseason games

Hazelton has gotten some praise, Zach Rogers name has been called out a few times.

Haven't heard much about T-bo, Not much about either of the OL picks either.

I don't know so much about Coples standing...something to watch. Haven't heard anything from reports so I'm guessing it's not impressive.

  16. Normally that'd be a solid estimation but not w. this group of beat reporters. They don't mention anything about players who aren't skill unless they are injured, get in a fight or make an obvious sack(happens maybe once a practice until they go live).

Nothing about the battle at guard, the young DL, Denario Davis, Quinton Coples or Antwawn Barnes.

My point is..I don't think we can make any assumptions about how Coples or anybody in the trenches is doing b/c the media just does not report on it.

I know a lot of us on here were so down on the Jets that the thought of Hard Knocks knocking on our door sounded down right horrible.

But with Hard Knocks typically focusing on position battles and rooks/UDFA's trying to make the team, this would have been a GREAT year to be on Hard Knocks. Milliner, Geno, Richardson, Safety battles, O-Line battles, DB battles...yup, this would have been a really good year.

it would have been cool to see for our sake... but its a distraction, and the team is trying to move on from those. this isn't a good time.

One thing I know about our reporters is they will report the negatives

So their silence is an indication of progress

For example the guy calling Geno out for his conditioning on NFL.com
