Im liking this, I dont want to jump the gun being that its only day 3, but Sanchez better watch himself. If Geno continues this, he will be our starter. Love the praise by Marty about his ability to drop from center and understand the verbiage. Two of Geno's biggest question marks coming into the NFL and the west coast offense. Love it.
i've been shouting from the rooftops that hill is going to be good. you are going to see a beast against the lions august 9
It certainly doesn't sound like he's in over his head out there does it? More like it sounds like he's doing everything asked of him and doing it well, so far.
Things I still need to see/hear from Geno 1. Leadership and command of the team 2. Throwing on the run 3. Hots 4. How he reacts to bad sequences
I just hope he can follow up with another good performance tomorrow and continue to apply the pressure to Sanchez. It will be interesting to see how Sanchez "reacts" to that kind of pressure. I think it will be with INT's.
We all have missed football no doubt, but it seems like people are making too much out of these early practices. Ever heard of Preseason games? That will be crucial in the QB battle. Still, it is nice to see that both seem to be doing well so far.
Yeah, I was pretty damn happy when I heard what Marty said. Funny how everyone bashed him for not attending Jets West, but apparently what he did on his own wasnt too bad for himself... If he can run the read option correctly as well, and be effective while not injuring himself, we could have a nice piece at QB. Im excited, but want to reserve some judgement until he does this consistently and plays well in the preseason.
No doubt. Its great to hear this, but its only his 1st day with the 1's and he has to do it consistently. You have to admit that its pretty encouraging though.
I think we should keep track of every battle and start feeling out the depth chart Right now we know LT- D'Brickashaw Ferguson C- Nick Mangold DE- Muhammad Wilkerson CB- Antonio Cromartie LB- David Harris With other locks essentially being Demario Davis, Quinton Coples and Jeremy Kerley
It's exciting because it doesn't sound like Geno is in over his head which was a legit concern with him. It's exciting because Suckchez has legit competition who is applying pressure. Not too long ago we had the QB coach telling us he wasn't ready. Well maybe he's still not but it doesn't sound like he's too far off, does it? Sanchez is going to need to step up his game if Geno can continue to put up similar performances. Can he do it?
We're excited because all we heard prior to camp was Sanchez this or that Now Smith is getting a chance to shine We're happy both are playing well that's what everyone except a few we're hoping for
Geno gets the ones again tomorrow, Sanchez gets them the next two days. (tue, wed) by next sunday (sanchez's 4th full pads practice) we should see a bit of a trend and be able to get a true leader in this pony race. I'd be shocked if Sanchez didn't start in detroit regardless.
Sanchez is still your opening day starter.... Geno looks good, from the few glimoses I've seen, but....first offensive series v. Tampon Bay, has Sanchez tossing.
I understand and I am also happy Geno has started out strong. I am just saying it is too early to be like "They thought he would be in over his head, but he is not!" Then come Game 1 in Detroit he looks clueless. Hopefully that is not the case, but I am just saying. It is definitely a positive start though, which is all we can ask for at the moment.
knowing our luck, clyde gates gets hurt im praying he doesnt though, but we are jets fans. we never have good luck
Dude, this is pretty simple. If they have him learning Read Option plays.... Its because he aint running the WCO day one....because terminology, and footwork are the key, so they are trying to get him on the field. But its not a good sign for the start Geno crowd.
