How can the Jets have a winning record? Young defensive players mature to a point where they can actually change the game up front - Wilkerson, Ellis, Coples -- if Wilkerson becomes dominant up front it can really change the defense. Coples builds on how he played in the second half he could be a beast.

The big question is who is the QB and how does the offense operate.

It's the NFL -- you never know how things will play out. The team does have talent on the roster.

The team has the defensive talent. Offensively, well Hill will need to progress greatly, see how Holmes is coming off of his injury. Keller/Greene are ?s if they are on the team. QB in the new offensive system is still up in the air. Our only know offensive skill talent right now is Kerley with potential in other places and question marks in many more

This is true.. I can honestly say its idiotic the way the media rushes to our every move and bashes it so much that even some of us believe it. We HAVE talent not a whole All-star team but it will devlope and when it does we will feel alot better about the situation Mo Wilk. will progress so will Coples,Kerley will,Hill will also. It will get better from here.

I think we have talent on offense too, Holmes, Kerley, and Powell, Edwards (if resigned) is decent. Obviously we have to hope that Hill takes the next step next season but he has potential.

Our defense just needs a OLB that can get to the QB someone like Von Miller.

Exactly. We have no idea what we're working with on any unit. We KNOW that there will be a lot of turnover and perhaps even at the most important position on the field. I'm thinking just from looking at that schedule, we'll have to be pretty damn lucky to get to 8 wins or perhaps even 6.

Maybe an offensive linemen Address our O-line gap in the draft, grab a good OLB from FA and a good solid RB in round 2-3 and I think we got a pretty decent Offense.

Lol! It would be the make or break year for Rex that we have a tough schedule.

It's of course too early to say for sure. But glancing at it in this moment, I have to say it looks like it will be difficult for this team to win ANY of those road games.

I would draft an OLB in the first 2 rounds, then O line men in the next 2 after. Then a MLB in the 5th round, another OLB in the 6th and a o line man in the 7th.

I would use free agency to address the RB position. I would like to see how good of a unit Holmes, Kerley, Edwards and Hill can be.

That's a good idea but if we draft a WR sometime early or mid like people predict there has to be a odd man out either Hill or Edwards.. That's why I don't think people understand it takes time to devlope players no one is patient.

The odd man out could be Gates. But Gates was decent and could be a viable 4th/5th type receiver.

Is holmes' injury one that someone can come back to 100% after? We will see on him.

    Kerley I definitely like.

Powell, I'm still in the air about. Good complementary back but I don't think we could go to him all game long.

Most excited for is McKnight. It seems the WCO mentality could fit his skillset perfectly if he figures out how to hold onto the ball

I'm optimistic about next season, I think there is a lot of unwarranted doom and gloom in this thread. Pittsburgh is on a major decline, the Bengals are bound to take a step back, as are the Colts who benefitted from a weak schedule, not to mention we blew them out.

I say we go at least 3-3 in the division, we win our two placement games against the raiders and titans, we go at least 2-2 against the AFC north, and 2-2 against the NFC south. So I have us at 9-7 right now. But there is no telling what shape our team or other teams will be in come next September.

Why are we ALWAYS AT BAL. We get Oakland here for a change. Maybe like 7-8 wins. Don't see us beating the Pats at all again

It's only the 2nd time in a row. We hosted BAL to start the 2010-2011 season. Then I believe we caught them on the 2nd place division last year and then this year it was the whole division so @ BAL since in 2010 it was vs BAL

What scares me about McKnight is that he seems brittle. Maybe its coincidence but ever since he got here, has he's ever been healthy for all 16 games?

I would imagine you could say that for a few of the guys too but its just a observation.

What scares me, and most likely the coaching staff, more is joe can't hold on to the damn ball. He had 3 fumbles in 69 total touches ( including returns ) last year. Greene had 4 in 295 touches. Powell 0 in 127.

He may be a good talent with the ball in his hands, but he is a piss poor pass blocker and fumbles far too often to be trusted. He needs to work on those areas of his game if he ever wants to be more than a return guy.

I think you might be right. He's been here 3 years. The first year he didn't play until some weeks in because he was a rookie who fumbled.

I think in 2011 he was fine? This year he had migraines and ribs or was that someone else?

Yeah that's my main concern. He puts the ball on the ground a lot and there are a plenty times I have seen him slow down or move awkwardly while getting hit to avoid it.
