The chants were lacking. You would think they would put it on the big screens in the stadium for everyone to chant at the same time but they didn't...despite that the crowd was lively especially on the bucs first and last drive...oh and when they announced geno as the qb the place went crazy and geno chants started

I can't tell if either of these posts even approaches truth, but I know that I didn't worry about the crowd this game after games that were played the past couple of seasons.

The 12th man was alive and well yesterday.

I thought the crowd was pretty loud throughout the game but especially during the 1st & 4th quarter. Having the flags for the fans helped. I also managed to get each letter. I couldn't believe that many people left after TB scored their last field goal then laughed my ass off at them because they were stuck in the exits listening to the stadium erupt after we won!!

The drum line is a nice touch but we definately need someone to lead the Jets chant. We just can't seem to get it going like Fireman Ed did. I don't think he will be welcomed back by the fans but it would be nice to have someone step up to do it.

Yeah it was amazing. I have no voice whatsoever haha. Tampa Bays second to last possession where they punted was the loudest possession of the game IMO.

Hmm... I think he would be welcomed back, it would be hard to imagine everyone ignoring him, y'know?

Anyway, I think that over time someone else would come up with some other thing, something different than Fireman Ed. Every team seems to have some random noteworthy fan or group of fans, but what matters the most is whether the fans can be loud enough and then quiet enough to give the Jets' offense a big home advantage. I think they did that yesterday, so that's a good sign.

I agree. I never had a problem with fireman Ed and miss what he brought to the game day experience. I guess what I meant to say is within the last few years the crowd really seemed to be brutal and high on negativity. Granted the team was not producing well but when the crowd boos their own players and fans it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

On the bright side - the crowd really seemed positive and if it continues then Ed may be able to lead the chant again and if their is booing then hopefully it's drowned out by the Jets chant from the more upbeat crowd.

On TV it was great man...Actually, there is this new sound beat they put of jet engines starting sort of like a space shuttle launching...Sounds like this video below, it was amazing especially when Tampa was going for it on 3rd down so it was at times prior to that.
