Lebron had a very poor possession down 5. Took a long contest 2 with the time running out on the shot clock and missed badly, then didn't get back on D to cover the the guy covering him and Beverly got an easy 2

what a dumb pass by Harden

3 point lead, 20 seconds left

just chucks it blindly down the court

Wow. Michael Beasley hits a 3 with 20 seconds left to cut it down to 3. Then Miami didn't foul Harden in the backcourt who threw a full court pass that goes out of bounds and Maimi gets the ball down 3. BUT, as the ball was thrown way down the court, Dwight and Lebron went up for the ball and Lebron got elbowed in the face. Crazy few seconds. If Miami fouled immediately, they don't get the ball back. But they tried to go for the press/steal/backcourt violation with under 24 left and it worked

Harden also split free throws earlier so it was 6 points instead of 7

Houston escaped, some poor late game execution though. Looked like Houston D got Miami enough off track to force Miami to hold for the final shot instead of shooting with 5 or 10 left for the tie.

Looking at the replay, Miami's final execution pretty bad. Do not believe it was drawn up like that.

Gasol had a weird dunk. He dunked it but kind of fell off the rim awkwardly and landed on the floor uncomfortably

    absolutely

This happens way too often in basketball when teams have the last shot and can win/tie. They wind up with an off balance heave from 3 (usually after holding the ball for 10+ seconds to ensure the other team doesn't get a possession).

It's not complicated. Someone needs to drive and either take it to the hoop (possibility of easier shot and/or getting fouled), or kick it out to a shooter.

Instead, you usually get 1 guy holding it, holding it, then finally realizing he's out of time and chucking a wild shot, or the guy passes it to someone with under 3 seconds left who's in no position to shoot.

^^ Yeah I think Miami had a play designed but Rockets put Lebron off his path and then Miami got stuck into the over dribbling and long 3. It seemed like Lebron/Bosh PnR got blown up and that was the end of the play

They always have something planned for those situations, I think, even if they don't have a timeout to draw it up

Yeah even if it's something simple, but I think Miami coming off a TO had a play more than a simple PnR or screen. Definitely there are go to plays. Miami had time to readjust and call something quick but Lebron went solo. He was definitely gassed in the 4th Q from his overall play. Took a tough, contested shot.

    Miami at San Antonio tomorrow

Interesting to see who plays. Wade randomly sits out games (if he just didn't play in one game of a back to back, that would be one thing, but he's missed a lot more than that) and Popovich loves resting starters for TNT games.

Kawhi, Green, and Splitter didn't play in their first matchup this year against MIA and Wade came off the bench. Last year, I believe we also got not full starting lineups in their two match ups.

He only does it when they are playing back to back on the road. Its in San Antonio so I assume ill players will be ready to go. The Heat are already in Texas (Houston) an have today off so I believe they will all likely be going to.

Yeah funny how the Bobcats didn't go small to do it.

And poor pacers, I definitely feel bad for their 40+ wins and only the 2nd time all season they lost bad kto back games.
