Woohoo thanks Petro! I thought I'd lose the lead this week, but ended up gaining a bit. I had the Colts wrong, which I was back and forth with all week. I really wanted to pick the Browns, but didn't. That one annoyed me haha. Then there was ours (ugh), and the TNF game from a week ago.
Does it really matter? Everyone picks based on the same available information. So long as this is the case the rules could be to pick by Tue. noon for all I care.
Well it depends how you look at it. I'm not saying it's not fair for certain people. I'm just saying it is unfortunate that you have to guess the winners of games 3-4 days away. Plenty of things change in that period. For example, I picked SD to beat the Browns a few weeks back, but by saturday night I was convinced the Browns would pull it off. I couldn't change my official answer since I had to put it in on thursday. Anyway, I was really unsure of a few games this week. I've been pretty confident up to date, so we'll see how she goes.
I hear you, and agree. The thing is that I imagine it's not easy to set it up "your" way, and certainly requires more work from Petro. The way it is now he doesn't need to spend much time while integrity is maintained.
This would indeed require more work, as I'd have to set up multiple deadlines for each week. It's doable, but... I think it's fine the way it is now.
I'm 7-4-1, but got GOW right for a change. Lost with Jets (naturally). Beating myself for picking Giants -- had Cinci, but changed pick just before selecting.
Normally I'd be thrilled only guessing one game wrong. Today is not normal though. The only game I got wrong was the gang green. I picked all the favorites, and I'm sure everybody else did too.
It WOULD be the Jets to ruin a life long goal of mine to guess every game correctly. Since I was a young kid penciling in my picks in the paper, I've always been determined to eventually get em all. The season didn't start off so hot, but week 4 I had every game right up until the Sunday night game was starting. Week 7 Buffalo cost me a perfect week by blowing a lead and losing by ONE POINT to the Titans. Now this week it seemed odd, and slightly wrong taking all the favorites, but I really felt that way with them all. I almost picked the Jets, but have been caught up in the depression here, losing all faith in Mark Sanchez, and questioning plenty in the organization. In the end I'll be happy with only 1 wrong again, but so close!
I'm curious, if this Jets game was Mon night and you were 13-0, would you root for Jets to win, or for you to get the jackpot?
I think this is part of the reason I am back in the 20th spot, I can't bring myself to ever pick against the Jets and many times find it hard to pick the Pats, Fins or Bills to win so I have probably lost 8 or 9 points I could have had if I picked with my head instead.
I know what you mean, had the same problem before. Now I'm trying to separate - pick who I think will win, but root for jets, even if it means wrong pick. If Jets win, I'm happy. If not there's consolation price of getting the pick right.
Honestly I'm pretty much in tank mode, so I'd love the jackpot lol. Plus I want Mark gone, and us winning does not help that. I, just like RuJFan, have had that problem. I've been better recently in life, but this year especially I have no problem picking the team I hope loses. I've been more darksider than usual lately, so maybe that helps. Honestly I have the same train of thought. That's hilarious. Since the Jets lose a lot this year, I've gotten a lot of consolation prizes, and it's made pick 'em more fun.
this is a bit convoluted logic. You want Mark gone so that Jets will be winning yet if loosing is what gets him out, you're all for it. It's almost like Mark's gone is the objective, not Jets winning. Do you realize that almost exactly 5 years ago there was exactly the same sentiment about Eli Manning?
