still francesa is better than listening to dick waving and trying to mask ignorance by shouting ala michael kay. i hate that guy.
i sure as hell wouldnt want to do it. i have no problem sounding my opinions here on tgg or listening to others opinions. if i say something that ends up being retarded i can just say you know your right and move on. and if i run into an absurd argument it doesnt keep coming back constantly throughout the week. to hell with that job. on a side note boomer and carton were making fun of him again yesterday i think. i dont listen to them much but caught a little of yesterdays show. someone was speaking and when they were done carton says man i hope mike wasnt listening or he would of fallen asleep that was such a bad piece. then some guy called in and asked about how the jets are going to contend with the steelers tall wrs and they clowned him, which i thought was the most hilarious thing i heard all day.
Maybe Fatty's envious he doesn't have Russo's gig lol. And he doesn't have to talk about the same topics over and over again, sports radio has helped create and foster the environment where baseball and football get 90% of local coverage and mentioning A-Rod's name guarantees five hours of calls. Even when he tries to talk about hockey he 'doesn't follow it'. The only reason he ever talks about the NBA is because it's fun to mock the Knicks. Yeah talking sports gets old after a while, but he's got a five and a half-hour a day job plus watching various sports on TV or with press passes at the stadium afterward. That ain't as bad as working in an office for nine-ten hours a day, and those people don't get paid what he does.
I'm sure doing Fatcessa's job may be tedious after a while, but by no means do I have any sympathy for him. He gets paid 7 figures to sit on his ass and talk about sports. Even if the conversation get's dull, that might be the easiest job on the planet.
Russo is under a lot of heat for not getting bigger numbers at Sirius/XM. He gets like 13% of sports programming listeners on the network. He's alwats complaining about how hard he works with little results (except a fat paycheck I guess). As ridiculous as Francesa can be, he also is good at getting rid of the idiots who call radio shows on an endless parade of homerism/ignorance. I actually like his NFL Now show because when he isn't talking Giants/Jets he's better than most. If Mike and Chris had stayed together, that would have been the arrangement that worked best for everyone.
Caller: Hey Mike, I think the Cardinals have a great shot against the Pats this week. Tank: Waitasekent, waitasekent! You think da Cawwdinals with a backup can beat da great Pats in dere own building? Get outta heah you clueless clown, youah lawst! Pro gambling tip: Any time Tank handwaves an underdog of 13 or more, bet all you have and can borrow on the underdog. Guaranteed win.
Can't exactly fault him on that one though, I mean like 98% of people would have picked the Pats. I do want to hear him talking about the 'classy Tawm Caughlin' after he nearly bit Schiano's head off in the postgame. Talk about a sore winner lol.
Da NFL had to send one of duh officials home because he made a post on uhhhh Facebook or uhhh tweetuh, I dunno one of the social mediar sites. He made a post dat he was a Saints fan and was going to ref da game! Den he told one of duh playizzzz dat he has him in his rotisserie league. Next thing you know deeze clowns will be tweetin' dat dey got money on da game!
Not in a seven point game. You're supposed to give up? The Post had an article about Herm's play from 1978 and some quotes from him, you play to the end. And you play to win the game!
Even Francesa was defending Schiano on that one. I'm surprised most of the media was killing him to be honest, I mean really it's not like they were cheap-shotting guys. They just whomped a couple of guys legally when they weren't expecting it. And I thought only baseball had this many 'unwritten rules'...
i dont blame schiano for what he did...a crazy fumble/recovery/td is possible - almost unlikely but still possible
Hey, if the offense isn't ready for something like that, then the blame is on them. Anything goes when the clock is running. The line should always be aware that it could happen. I never liked the kneel down rule since the QB is never touched. It's not like he's sliding to protect himself, he's just giving up. They should be required to finish the game and not duck out. There's absolutely nothing wrong with going for a fumble when they least expect it. I always wished deep down inside that the Jets would try it at some point.
