What a pathetic drop by Dane Sanzenbacher. And now Forte puts the ball on the ground for a touchdown. Time for Cutler to start pouting.
Eagles stop the Bears and an idiotic roughing the passer penalty gives the Bears a first down on the 3. Edit: yeah, he was shoved, and it shouldn't have been a penalty.
I dunno how moronic a play that was--Jackson is a quintessential "make something out of nothing" returner, I have no problem with him trying to break something. That said, you have to be extra sure that you have the ball secured if you're going to take that risk. Now diving at Cutler's knees 3 seconds after a terrible 3rd down pass, that's a moronic play.
The tackle definitely put his hands on him, but in real time it looked like Babin dove at Cutler. I think it was a good call by the refs. Touchdown Barber.
The huge hit on Celek at the end of the first half is a classic example of the hypocrisy about headshots in the NFL. The refs didn't throw a flag on that play so the announcers celebrate Briggs's huge hit. If they had, the announcers would be declaring Briggs a menace to society.
I can't figure out if Gruden is on Ecstasy or Mushooms. Seems to be in love with everything even more than usual.
Have to believe they're going to put Forte back in - punishing for fumbling is fine, but he's got to be in there if you want to win the game. Edit: and as soon as I say it they put him back in
"That's what makes Forte one of the best RBs in the league." "This is why Cutler is one of the top QBs in the league." "Another reason why Philly has one of the best QB/RB tandems in the league."
the eagles defense is really bad, if not for the forte fumbles and a couple of drops by the WRs on perfect passes this would be a bears blowout.
