I'll take the younger receiver because of this.

Detroit's secondary blows. They'll have to pass a lot especially against teams like GB, ATL, NO, SD, and CHI.

...and they aren't going to give Jahvid Best 30 carries a game. If LeShoure wasn't on the IR, this argument made hold more water. They RB depth is weak in Detroit.

That's basically why I've been saying that I'll take my chances. This is a wait and see pick.

I'm just trying to figure out why Andre Johnson is such a better option, because clearly that's not the case.

Chris Johnson put up 272 points in 2010's league. Calvin put up 266. ...not much of a drop. I'm banking on the RB CJ to do about the same and the WR CJ to improve a little bit.

It's not clear that it isn't the case. Compare their best seasons and the uncertainty that injury has created in the Detroit QB situation, and it's not a stretch at all to think Andre has a better season.

Of course, I didn't have much of a problem with you wanting Calvin over Andre. It was this:

You really can't compare points for players across positions. If you could, everyone should have taken a QB right away. Different positions have different values and different depth. Between Chris Johnson and Calvin, it's not much of a difference points wise. However, the dropoff is much more severe for RBs.

The difference between #1 and 24 for WRs last year was 130 points.
In 2009, it was 132, even with Andre's insane season.

The difference between #1 and 24 for RBs last year was 228 points. In 2009, it was 210 points.

You have to drop WAY into the undrafted ranks at WR to find that kind of a drop off.

    I see Electric's point.

I've always felt RBs were more valuable because they generally touch the ball more times with carries AND also catch passes.

A good day for a WR is 10+ catches. A bad day for a premier RB is 10 carries. The 1 pt PPR sort of evens out the playing field.

But a receiving back like McCoy should have more points than either Johnson WR.
