I don't think that's obvious. Rex Ryan has said that they were going to take the best player on the board, regardless of position when their time came. That's what they did. Excellent pick. A STEAL at 29. The Jets have the chance at an ELITE defense now, not just a good one. Not to mention the bonus of the return game he offers.

    Revis
    Cro
    Wilson
    Lowery

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This secondary is great when Lowery is the #4 CB.

In Rex we trust. I like the pick. Beastly secondary, we made opposing offenses one-dimensional.

We officially have the best secondary in football (as long as Pool stays healthy). Wow!

JT/BThomas, Harris, Scott, Pace - excellent linebackers

D-Line can be improved (especially depth), but I think we'll work on that in the 2nd round.

    This is a fantastic defense.

Would HATE if Clausen ends up with the Bills tommorw. Spiller and Clausen talk about value and a nice 1 2 punch. :/

I hope we manage to snare Grokowski in round two.

Why do we need a receiving Tight End?

I don't think he'll make it that far.

When you play the Colts! This also means that Cromatrie will probably only be with us one season...

Or he just thought that Wilson was an even bigger stud. Maybe he's even working to trade up in the 2nd overnight to try and get a shot at Kindle.

exactly. That was the point for our off-season moves, to free us up to take BPA at our slot, and Wilson was a HUGE steal. Think about it, It was JoeH OR K-dub for the browns, basically a coin flip for them, at pick #7...

I probably would've preferred another pass rusher - but having got Taylor It was less urgent. I have to say to people saying it wasnt a need at all...yeh maybe but look at the title game. We got destroyed by Garcon and Collie. Now Lito out, Lowery (who was awful...so awful in tht game) demoted. Cromartie and Wilson makes the back end very impressive

Amen. If we had these backs LAST year, we might well have won the game. Colts have 4 legit wideouts. Now we can cover three of them.

Awesome. Only gave up a 7th and swapped 4ths for Best.

I don't want to put words in anybody's mouth, but we just got a guy everyone's been crazy about who just happened to be a 2nd team All-American. Big, fast dude, who also returns punts, which last I checked was a definite issue for us last season. Get over it. Kyle Wilson will be a beast here. Cromartie's probably here a year. Mark it. Great fucking pick.

And the best part thus far: Linval Joseph, Cam Thomas, Ricky Sapp, Everson Griffen, Sergio Kindle, and Eric Norwood are still on the board for the second round.
