Jake Locker vs USC at USC: 24/39 313 yds passing 1 TD 0 INT
    12 rushes 111 yards including a 50 yard run.

(Did this despite getting hurt in the game with a concussion)

That is Signature win no.1 in his senior year. That was a studly performance that will be talked about come April of next year no doubt.

THIS! And Meyer doesn't appear to have adjusted his gameplan to account for this. Sucks.

I look at Brantley the same way I do Tim Couch. Remember that Bill Curry had Couch running the option his first year and it was a complete disaster. Brantley just isn't equipped to run the option, and if they're not careful they'll get him hurt back there. He would have been a better fit in an offense more like what Spurrier ran at Florida. Throw in a center who still doesn't know how to snap the ball in the shotgun/pistol formation and they're just setting him up for failure.

I know his dad played at Florida and I'm sure he was a big UF fan growing up, but sometimes you have to go to a school where you can let your talents shine.

It was pretty damn stupid for him to go there, but I'm guessing that Meyer may have never exactly planned for him to be the starting QB. I figure he would have started Cam Newton over Brantley this year had the former not started chucking laptops, and been fine with Brantley transferring to a non-threat school. If I'm not mistaken, Miami and a handful of other SEC schools had a shot at Brantley, and Meyer wouldn't let that happen.

John Brantley de-committed from Texas to go to Florida.

I understand that he wants to play at the same school as his dad, but that just wasn't a smart move.

Look at the different paths Joe Montana's sons took:

Nate ended up transferring to Notre Dame to follow in his father's footsteps and things haven't worked out for him. He doesn't fit into that system at all now that Brian Kelly's there.

Nick went to Washington...a school that fit his style of play. He's got a promising future ahead of him in Sarkisian's pro-style scheme.

Sometimes you have to make your own shadow for someone to get stuck in.

I'm not saying this is the reason Peyton is better than Eli...but.

    Archie and Eli: Ole Miss
    Peyton: Tennessee

It still got Eli the #1 pick so it's probably irrelevant, just saying.

they wisely scheduled a Tuesday night game this week, with baseball off for two days.

    Troy at Middle Tennessee State.

Troy scored early and on the ensuing drive, MTSU QB Dwight Dasher dislocated the pinky finger on his non-throwing hand. Not sure whether he'll be back.

Dasher was seeing his first game action this season after being suspended for four games for taking improper benefits.

down 14-0, MTSU punting on 4th and about 4 inches.

    Don't like the decision.

you know athletes normally only praise god after good plays?

The MTSU punter just did the god gesture after a 26 yard punt.

taped the fingers together and Dasher is back in.

Later, Jamie Hampton (one of Troy's QBs) broke his leg.

    Troy up 21-0

A potentially good game is about to come on ESPN.

    Nebraska @ Kansas State

This is a game where a relatively unknown player (that should be known by almost everyone) could burst on to the national scene. K-State's running back Daniel Thomas is an absolute beast. I want to see what this kid can do against a top tier defense like Nebraska's.

Besides Thomas, keep an eye on Cornhusker defensive lineman Jared Crick.

Hopefully we'll get to see a close, competitive game tonight.

This game is a rout. Taylor Martinez is owning the KSU defense.

I wanted to see a good game, but I figured it'd come to this.

If Denard Robinson is being considered for the Heisman, then T-Magic's name should definitely be thrown into the discussion as well.

This kid was a three star athlete on Rivals...that's right, a 3 star ATH...not a 5 star QB. He's proving everyone wrong.

streak for the cash had a prop on whether the first TD of the second half would be a rushing TD or something else.

In the first minute, Martinez busts a long TD run. Then about 3 minutes later, Lucky goes for like a 70 yard TD.
