Oh, I completely agree that he has a lot of potential and he has everything you look for in a passer...except pocket presence. The guy has no feel for the pass rush. Like you said, if he learns how to play the position, he could be a good one, but I don't see that happening. His accuracy scares the hell out of me. There's a kid named Ryan Mallett at Arkansas that is almost the exact same prospect as Joe Flacco - horrible accuracy, cannon for an arm. He'll more than likely be a first round because of his elite height (6'6) and rocket launcher arm.
meh, not sure I like that...I know you want to avoid a turnover, but the easiest way to score 3 is to try to score 6 first...
...had to figure Dennis Dixon would make a bad decision. He got lucky a few times in this game. Ravens win - good for the Jets.
stats can be misleading...interceptions can be caused by many things and can be the fault of someone other than the QB Flacco's made some boneheaded plays, but I'd say that more of Boller's INTs were due to his ineptitude than Flacco's
yeah. previously I said a Steelers win would be better but yeah, the Ravens winning is the better outcome. Overall a good day for the Jets
Man, listening to Ray Lewis almost makes me wish we got him instead of Bart Scott in the off season. The man is locker room gold, seems like a great football mentor for younger players
Yeah, I vaguely remember him playing at Mich (his frosh year, I think?). And he does seem similar to Flacco with his build, tools, etc. Good call.
mind-boggling that the catch by Baltimore in overtime was not reviewed. Officiating generally went against the Ravens, including the awful missed PI, but imagine if Kundiff's FG at the end of regulation was good... you saw the fickleness of the announcers on the play where Harbaugh elected to go for it on 4th and 5. He actually got complimented after the play. "What a call!" - Al Michaels If the Ravens had not converted, the full NBC artillery would've ripped on him, I'm sure, like they did to Belichick. What decides whether it's wise to go for it on 4th down in such situations is not whether the team ultimately converts. Poor analysis by Michaels and Colinsworth. Dungy also didn't rip on Harbaugh, when I'm sure he would've had it failed. All the time there are poor decisions that work out and good decisions that don't. Knee jerk blowhards refuse to understand that. then Andrea Kramer had Rice and Lewis and didn't give Rice the chance to say a word! no player in league history has had three 85+ running plays in his career prior to Chris Johnson doing it three times this season. Interesting statistic. Another Titans one was Tennessee being the first team in league history to start 0-6 and then immediately win five straight.
Never thought I'd say the Bungles are the team to beat in the AFC North... one thing I notice about them is they play to the level of their comp. Just look at both Cleveland games and Oakland. They have Detroilet next week so that could be interesting. I think the Jets have a real shot to beat them. Pitt is toast... no Troy, No Big Ben = No playoffs
Johnson is single handidly winning fantasy games for me and I love him for it. What this guy is doing is unheard of. My buddy says it reminds him of watching OJ back in the 70's. I never saw OJ play so I don't know but Johnson is awesome...
