Agreed, there's no need to rush him when even without A-rod the yanks line-up should be fine in the early goings. The guy i'm most interested in is Cano. I heard they re-tooled his swing in spring training and I'm hoping he can finally start off the year right.

Jeeter will be leading off followed by Jonny D. in order to have Jeeter be the first Yankee to bat in the new stadium. After that I have no clue.

Hopefully they can get the game in. Boston game was cancelled already due to weather.

So, in order to win, you need to allow less runs than the opposition?
    Interesting concept!

  5. GO YANKS!

W/ that said..Ive never confident the first couple series of the season. Yanks bats tend to start slow...w/o AROD around I would expect no different. Pitching may have to carry us

Thank you! I think it's a strategy that will really catch on this year. I've never been so inspired. I was channeling the muses of both Tim McCarver AND Joe Morgan when I wrote it.

Adding Steve Phillips to them only makes listening even more unbearable.

Finally! It's time for some REAL baseball!

It really pisses me off that the start time is 4:00pm though. The middle of the game will be right in the middle of the entire fanbase of both teams' commute home. Stupidity.

^ which is fine with me. At least with the game at 4, I can tune into 880 for my 1 hr 15 min drive home and get the live play-by-play.

If the game was at 1, I'd MLB.com the whole thing...

Please tell me there is a new radio team this season. I'm not sure I can stomach Sterling and Waldman for another year.

I've looked around and so far yahoo is the only one with a batting order that looks legit.

    1. Jeter SS
    2. Damon LF
    3. Teixera 1B
    4. Matsui DH
    5. Posada C
    6. Cano 2B
    7. Nady RF
    8. Ransom 3B
    9. Gardner CF

I hope that's the order. I like Nady, but seeing him hitting ahead of Cano 2.0 is just wrong. Otherwise, it's the planned batting order AFAIK.

Nope, Sterling is back. I saw what his call for Teixiera's home runs were on Saturday... hilarious.

A-Rod has A-Bombs... X marks the spot for Nady... and Mark sends TEX messages into the stands. Awful.

4:25 first pitch. Crap. No night class for me today. I can't miss this game! There will only be 161 other games to watch this year. :)

Damned rain. What a stupid, stupid time to start an Opening Day game. 4 o'clock is just dumb.

  19. Yeah...It's kind of lost its luster w/ the bizarre start time. A 1 pm start just feels "right".

Lets go Yankees! Just called and ordered MLB extra innings, even though today it's on ESPN. Can't believe it's here already.
