Be thankful for that. Tino, O'Neill, Straw, Raines, Bernie, Wells, and Cone would all be pretty deep into their 40s.
But they'd have the heart, desire, clutchiness, and intangibles that would still allow them to succeed!!
This team walks into Yankee Stadium next week sitting at 3-6 and they will be showered with boos...Way to open a new stadium.
Just got back from Camden Yards. Another tough loss. Atleast the bats heated up in the 9th with Jeter's HR and Tex's double. Still a bad game. 7-5 loss.
the only thing that i have gained through this series that is positive (besides the bullpen being ok) is that we seem to have an ability to rally to within a run or two perhaps if the pitching kept up then we would not need to rally. But the ability to rally is always good
The one thing I learned from last night's game is the importance of A-Rod. Him in the line-up, we win.
I'm ticked off, sure, but come on guys. As soon as the pitching settles down, we'll win a lot of games. Keep in mind, this team is scoring. I doubt any of our starting pitchers are going to have an ERA of over 5, so I'd say we're going to be okay.
In defense of him though, I'd certainly prefer Alex at third over Cody Ransom. --------------- And why the hell can't this team score first?
Roberts puts Burnett in a 1-0 hole in his first Yankee start, all 3 hits were singles to center. Gamecast has his fastball sitting around 96. 4 Ks already. Burnett has filthy stuff.
