He hit a .292 with 34 homers in 2008. He slumped last season, but still managed to hit 27 out of the park, which is more than Nady ever hit in a season.

Dye's not a terrible option, but I don't think the Yankees were ever actually serious about him. I think they're trying to get Damon to bring his demands down because unless he significantly does, he's done in pinstripes.

Interestingly, according to Bryan Hoch, Cashman has said Nady's asking price is higher than the Yankees' budget allows. That's a little disheartening if you want anyone not on the current roster in left field. Nady can't be asking all that much coming off a missed season, can he?

I agree with Don, Cone was awesome in the booth and was constantly pimpin' fangraphs.

I liked Cone, too. If only they could have combined Cone's words with Singleton's voice...

I think Singleton is too monotone, though he has improved over the past couple years. I used to dislike him, but I've grown to prefer him over Kay (not that it was a really hard contest.)

I really liked Cone though. Cone, O'Neill and Leiter are my favorite guys to listen to. They make Kay and Singleton bearable.

Kay Murcer and O'Neill were the best crew. I absolutely love O'Neill as an analyst. I wish he did more games.

    Kaat was great too.
    I don't mind Ken.
I could do without Flash, Cone, and Leiter.

They should get Torre when he retires, how sick would that be?

I think Flaherty is getting better...

Flaherty is improving, but I'd still pick "Watching paint dry" over him on a list of "Things that keep you awake."

I think that Flaherty sucks, he really adds nothing to the broadcasts except "remember that time that I hit a walkoff in 2004?" Then again I really disliked Leiter when he started, but since then he's gotten quite good so there's hope for Flash yet.

In my opinion Kay, Singleton and Leiter is the best combo that YES throws out there these days.

Once he retires, I wonder if Johnny Damon would have any interest in broadcasting. He'd be a natural in front of the mic (and you know he'd piss Kay off.)

Holliday re-signed with the Cardinals for 7 years 120 million. Was kinda hoping the Yankees would get him

Sucks about Cone. I love that guy, and thought he provided some great commentary, especially with regards to pitching.

Hinske to the Braves. Cashman has some work left to do with the bench.

RIP Art Rust Jr. who passed away yesterday at 82. I used to listen to him on WABC in the car with my father.

"Johnny Damon and the Yankees spoke again within the past few days, and Damon now has been given the weekend to decide whether he wants to come back on a bargain deal.

The chances he will accept a low-base contract for a few million dollars (probably no more than $5 million guaranteed) from the Yankees still appear slim, so Damon's tenure with the team could officially end early next week."
