Jets philosophy is to have the entire starting team in place prior to the draft... by that logic, we should be acquiring THREE olinemen in free agency. Faneca, Lilja, and Starks would do. Bell too.
I think the ones of interest are the 2 Pittsburgh lineman and Ryan Lilja. We must address our offensive line (MUST!) in the off-season. What better way than to get quality, experienced linemen from, solid, top-tired teams. If we stand on our laurels and watch these guys get swallowed up by other teams, we are not dealing in reality. I just don't think the draft is the way to go this year for O linemen. I like proven commodities with experience. You get what you pay for.
I'm not sure but I heard Tannenbaum say it in a radio interview so that is at least the philosophy they are advertising to the public.
It would be great if it were true; I hope so. I also hope they can pull off a deal that gives us a quality NT, too. The O Line FA talent pool this year is not too bad. I think we need to make an immediate impact with no BSing around.
