Offensive - Joseph Addai The guy is walking into the best situation for a RB. Unlike Maroney or Williams or even Bush, he doesn't have an already esteblished started he will have to beat out and split some with. Defense- Michael Huff This guy will just have a field day in the division that was could once hold the claim to best but is now soft. Going up agaisnt inexperienced Rivers and Cutler should be fun. Or if Jake the Mistake stays at the helm it's still all good. Green is the only real QB in that division. It's a shame he can't go up agaisnt Oakland and pick off Brooks too.
On Off. Addai, Joseph - He is just in a great place to look good. or Leinart, Matt - If Green lets him play enough early and then start he has a chance of looking really good with the weapons on that team. On Def. Williams, Mario - Freak #1 Hawk, A.J. - Freak #2
I'll try not to be biased: Defense: Eric Smith Offense: Poliacsk(whatever TE were switching to FB) Also the runner ups will be Shlegel and Mangold
I have... Offense: Laurence Maroney, NE. Great fit, smart runner, can catch out of the backfield well enough to take catches from Patrick Pass, and will obviously get his share of carries with Dillon slowing quickly. Defense: Manny Lawson, SF. Made for the 3-4, great passrush skills, great athlete, he'll be terrific.
I think this tells you who I feel had an amazing draft... Offensive: Vernon Davis, steps right in immediately as the team's top target for Alex Smith and TE's don't seem to take as long to develop as WR's. I like a lot of the backs, but Deuce McAllister, Deshaun Foster and Corey Dillon will eliminate the chances of Bush, Deangelo, and Maroney. Defense: Manny Lawson, tailor made for the 3-4, an excellent pass rusher and an insane athlete.
My pick is still Reggie Bush on offense... but instead of going with my defensive pick I'm going to go out on a limb a little and go with Bobby Carpenter. He's going to likely start immeadiately in a very good defense, and with Demarcus Ware coming off the other corner I think most teams will choose to run Carpenter's way. 120 tackles 3 sacks and 3 ints is very possible... Offense: Bush Defense: Carpenter
Offense: Reggie Bush will split carries with Deuce but also be a huge recieving and returning threat. The only person who could challenge him for this in my mind is DeAngelo Williasm. Defense: Michael Huff is the best defensive player in the draft. Eventually Mario Williams may surpass him, but Huff is ready to be a pro bowler at safety right now.
Offense: Vernon Davis. Will walk right in and start at the TE position and possibly become Alex Smith's favorite target. Defense: Manny Lawson. Going to be a beast in Nolan's 3-4. San Fran possibly had the best draft, yeah....
The only thing that causes me to back off of Davis as a ROY is Alex Smith. The Niners didn't have much to work with, but Smith still looked pretty bad last year. 1 TD and 11 INTs. If he makes progress, then we'll see. But he's not looking too good right now.
For you and the other Lawson lovers... yes he is a better player then Carpenter but Carpenter is going to start right away on the opposite side of Demarcus Ware in a great defense. At this point - would you rather run straight and Ware or Carpenter? Carpenter in a heartbeat... I think he's going to be in position for an insane amount of tackles and sacks this season and since stats are the thing that dictate ROY I'm taking a different 3-4 OLB. Not to mention that the rest of Lawson's defense is horrific and he's going to be doubled on passing plays and ran away from on running plays...
Too early to tell about running away from Lawson on rushing plays. History shows though that gaudy sack totals will win out over tackle numbers (see Merriman over Tatupu in the ROY vote this year).
This one so easy . Offense rookie of year- Joseph Addai RB Colts- might not be the most talented but hes going to the best situation. Going to put up hugh numbers next season. Defensive rookie of year. Michael Huff- Raiders are going to play him everywhere. Sorta Like how steelers play Troy Polamalu. Should put up some pretty big numbers next season.
Tom Brady looks like a major tard in your avatar. Goofus Doofus, duh! Plus, he wears ass-creeping pants. I...what? What do you mean this isn't the Trash Talking Forum? Damn it. Sorry.
Im not making predictions because this is the nfl, and injuries occur more often, But the players in better situations to do good in their rookie campaign, are huff, and addai.
Offensive rookie of the year- Reggie Bush RB, NO. 1010 yards rushing, 400 yards receiving, 12 touch downs. Defensive rookie of the year- AJ Hawk- LB, Greenbay. Will finish #1 in INT's for a linebacker and rejuvinate a scrugglin GB d.
