I dont think TE in the first round is the way to go. Baker seems to be a good receiver and looks comfortable with the ball to make yards after the catch, but he doesnt get enough looks.

  2. I dont favor nor reject the concept of taking a Tight end in round 1. Personally i believe we need to heavily emphasize both lines in order to catch New England.

W/ that said, I would not be surprised at all if we go TE early in this draft. Why? there are a few reasons...

    1. Schottenheimer's offense is similar to that of San Diego's. The same San Diego team that has Antonio Gates who has taken that offense to a new level.

    2. I believe Mangini and Schotty would like to use alot more 2 TE formations similar to that of New England. That causes a D to flex their LB's or commit their safeties, and can really make things creative downfield. We currently dont have much of a passing threat after Baker at the position.

    3. As stated above, we don't have much depth behind Baker. Sean Ryan is nothing more than a situational blocking TE, and James Dearth is a long snapper through and through. This regime has believes in quality depth, and that could certainly be needed at the TE position.
